| I've never seen anyone here decorate for Ground Hog Day. It's my favorite holiday! No presents to buy... and there's hope of making it through the rest of winter. lol! |

| For Groundhog Day our family has traditionally had pork sausage of some sort for dinner. Sausage = ground up hog/pig. But I fear my husband's new diet might not play nice with that idea this year. It is also Candlemas day. So we usually have a lot of candles on the table. But not really nice enough to bother taking a picture. Actually, we usually go around and find all those half burned candles that we keep (too ugly to use but to good to toss), and use them. |

It's my brother's birthday, so that's the only way I've ever celebrated Groundhog Day ;^D It's really interesting, though, to hear how someone does celebrate this day. I was wondering if anyone would post a tablescape today with that theme. I think it was Yachter who did last GH Day. Lynn |

| It's my son's birthday too, so we always have a cake! Of course we send him out to see if he sees his shadow in the morning. Today, the "baby" is 18. |

| Last year, OA and Kathleen both did tables with a Ground hog theme and they were so cute. Maybe they will post them again for you, or you could check the archives for last year to take a look. We have sunshine, so know he would see his shadow. How about where you are? Luvs |

| Happy Groundhog Day to all! Cloudy (but bright) here so guess he wouldn't see his shadow! We'll have another 2+ months of winter either way. Just got a bit of snow but it's mild. I'd love to see how others decorate for Groundhog Day, I've never thot of doing anything. The only thing I have that's remotely related is a marmot stuffie. Candles are always a good idea, I burned the stubs from Christmas the other day but broke a glass candleholder doing so. Should know that happens with those cheap candleholders. Oh, well there will be another at a yard sale for 25¢ or less! |

| My desk has a chest high surround. On the shelf today, I have a stuffed animal groundhog offering a bowl of chex mix snacks! Everyone who has spotted him has gone away munching and laughing! |

| Milosmom, Sneaky is so cute. Love seeing the REAL thing. Bees-wife, too funny you send your DS out to see if he sees his shadow. LOL. 18, WOW, big milestone for you both. OA, thanks for reposting that. I have definitely saved your cloche and tablesetting pix this time. I LOVE that groundhog cloche. What fun! We don't have them in Phoenix tho do have Prairie Dogs. I fell in love with little Prairie Dogs when we moved here to AZ. Living in town now I don't get to see them like I did when we lived out in the country and I had horses. But they are so cute. And are also very loving, family-oriented little critters. They take care of each others babies, and they KISS one another. They should be for Valentine's decorating. LOL.
I love how she closed her eyes for their kiss. LOL. hugs, Karen |

| MM, I'm surprised to see Sneaky out and about. So he obviously didn't see his shadow, right? Karen, love those pictures of the little prarie dogs too. I had so much fun with them at a rest stop on one of our trips. I took some goldfish crackers over to feed them and they would cautiously come right up and take it out of my hand. One chubby little guy even put his little paws on my leg to be sure he didn't miss out! Kathleen, I remembered you did "something" with a little ground hog that was cute! Just the fact that I "remembered" shows that I liked it! LOL OA, thanks for reposting your picture for us. Just so darned cute! Luvs |

| Nice stories, great table, and I love the "kissing" prairie dogs. lol! We call them woodchucks, and even the maximum prediction of 6 more weeks of winter would be far better than normal here. :) |

Luvs: Sneaky is kind of unique.. LOL He lives in the hillside behind the aluminum die casting plant my DH works at and comes out quite ofton on day shift and swing because he knows they have food. They also have the resident Mama raccoon that comes out on night shift to bum (er swiftly steal)food to. DH works swing so he gets to see both of them pretty ofton. Fairly odd to see them right in the middle of the city but that's the place they have chose to live. |
