Grandaughters Valentine Table

Posted by yachter123 (My Page) on

Since my 10yr old grandaughter is the "woman of the house" for her Dad and her two brothers, she wants to do tablescapes at their house now.

I took her shopping & she picked out everything she wanted & then I gave her a red tablecloth to use.

Today, she did this all by herself, I was NOT there, this is totally her own creation.

Oh, I showed her the sundaes on here last nite & she made her version with converstaion hearts & silver on top & used red & white spoons. She also topped them with pink tootsie roll pops (for the cherry), but hard to see those in the pictures.

Oh boy, am I going to be broke shopping for HER & myself this summer at yard sales!

Enjoy!

I'm impressed!!!
She did a BEAUTIFUL! job. I'd say that Grandma is making a pretty positive influence on her *S*.
Enjoy your shopping with her and watch happily as her creativity grows (and share with us along the way to , please).

My first thought was "are you sure she's 10 yrs old??"
LOL
My second thought was that even a 10 yr old can set a far better table than me. ~~sighing deeply~~

gosh, whatta girl you have! Her table is delightful. You are one lucky GM to have this sidekick for future shopping and decorating! (Ask her if she'd like to come to Phoenix)
LOL

hugs, Karen

Oh boy are you ever, in trouble!! lol
How cute is that table!! She did an awesome job, and should be so proud of this.
Not only will you go broke shopping for the two of you...
but I'l bet she'll start 'shopping' in your house too...lol

It would be great to make a photo album of all her accomplishments, and date them.
It will be fun for her as the years go by, to see.
Oh yes...please share with us what she does...
I'd love to see too.

That is super cute! I love the heart-shaped doilies and the tiny wrapped packages with ribbons on them! :)

What a PAIR you two make! WOW, what fun you'll both have with sharing your shopping & tablescapes! Give her a big pat on the back...this is so cute!!! She did GREAT!!!

I'm with Jane...please get a photo or scrapbook/print a few pics when she helps you or does her own home 'scapes...and both of you write a few comments by the pics...you'll be able to share memories for years to come!

Lucky you! And kudos to your GD! TFS! Jeanne S.

Hello to Yachter's Granddaughter.
You did a wonderful job on your Valentine's tablesetting. I especially like that you elevated the centerpiece on a little box. It gave it a heavier, more grounded feeling. The way you tied and flared the napkins is also very eye-catching.
Did Grandma help you find the red flutes? I like the hearts attached to the stems.
Of course, your candy sundaes are adorable and really add the WOW Factor.
I hope you share more of your tablesettings with us as the year goes on.

She did an excellent Valentines table and I am so happy you have here to share in your hobby. Those little bears are sweet and I love paper doilies.

I totally agree with all of the statements everyone else has posted! She set such a pretty table, and I love her version of the sundaes--looks so pretty and festive and just perfect for Valentine's Day! She obviously has a natural talent for this, and has observed her Grandma's pretty tables over the years and learned well. So glad you shared with us. Luvs

Oh my GOODNESS!!! She did a wonderful job! Perfect in my eyes because it is red and white!!
Thank you so much for posting the pictures and tell her Happy Valentines Day from Texas!

Wow, she did a wonderful job!!! That does NOT look like a table a 10 y/o would do. This girl has definitely inherited her grandmother's design talent! Big congrats to her on a job well done! How blessed she is to have a grandmother like you, Yachter.

Well, I'll say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Very nice tablesetting and for a 10 year old, just fantastic! I'm sure she had lots of fun with it and I know you will both enjoy finding more treasures together.

A beautiful & festive table, hope your brothers & daddy enjoyed it too! You are teaching your brothers about girls & the pretty things they like, will come in handy when they are dating. The little gifts are so cute & the tootsie pop for cherry-very smart idea! Can't wait to see what you come up with when you shop ys's with grandma this summer, you will learn a lot & have fun mixing & matching! Jan

Wow, what a pretty table! And she's only 10! She did a lovely job. I think it's fantastic that she wants to do tables. With my girls it's always "not another stupid table setting"!

What a lucky girl to have a grandmother who has passed on a skill. She will always take this with her. It is obvious she elarned a lot from you.

DG, not to worry! Just wait for the little granddaughters to come along--bet they will want to do tables with you. ;o)

And isn't it great that you have us to enjoy all your creativity in doing the pretty tables? We love it!

Thank you all, my GD is loving the repsonses to her table.
Her eyes just lit up when I told her that people were writing her about her table and she had to read them right away.

DG, my grandkids are so used to a tablesetting, that if I leave mine "naked" for a week, they ask WHY! Then if I don't get on it fast enough, they now start planning one!!!

I won't get one done myself this year, hubby has not been feeling well, had some tests & we're lucky it came back it was a HUGE ULCER and he is on the mend now, but lost alot of time with doctor visits & tests, so no V table for me this year, but GD did me proud!

RE: Grandaughters Valentine Table

oh my! Sorry to hear about the problems with your DH. Glad they now know the problem and can fix it!

RE: Grandaughters Valentine Table

Yacht, warmest wishes to your DH. I'm glad he is on the mend, tho am sure waiting for test results and dealing with doctors was stressful. Hope you have a Happy Valentines, with or without a table setting.

hugs, Karen

RE: Grandaughters Valentine Table

Thank you all, I'm a worrier by nature, so when crisis strikes, I shut down completely, I mean completely!

I want to comment on all the beautiful V tables & decor you've all done, but I am so behind, I would never catch up, so all please know that I have looked at all of them & really think everyone outdid themselves this year and I loved all of them.

My schedule is so busy, being MOM to the grandkids, I have a calendar with activities listed & most weeks we may have one nite that we do not have someplace one of them has to be. Oldest GS is in jr high play & also filming a local TV show that will air on the local channel. Music lessons, homework help with the little ones, etc. keep me very busy, plus doctoring for my back.

I start physical therapy again this week for the low back problem that has dogged me since Oct. due to all the work involved with the two litters of pups we had before Christmas.

Hoping I will have time to do an Easter table, but who knows!!!
