What Does It Look Like Outside

One of my friends just posted this beautiful picture on facebook. It has been snowing for two days and we have 8-9". Sure cleans up the landscaping with all the white fluffy snow laying around.

Jeanne so glad your home. Hope each day finds you gaining more strenght.
Jane, so glad you sold your home and we don't have to worry about you being snowed in and running out of fuel!
Candy and Nana, I know both of you have the snow at times so hope you'll share.

Since it's slow and I'm thinking about sharing my Johnson Brothers Friendly Village dinnerware in my lg hutch, thought it might be nice to share some outdoor pictures on here. I know Karen and OA don't have snow. For those of us who do, it'll give us something to drool over.

Stay warm and safe. Punk

It has been sooooo cold here (Northwestern Ontario, Canada) for most of December and January that the waterfalls not far from where we live has actually frozen over. A first - for sure in my memory - not sure how long its actually been since Kakabeka Falls has frozen over!

Gotta have a word with that groundhog! LOL

    Thanks Jeanne, your so Welcome!

Nana, lucky you your snow is almost gone. It's lightly
snowing here. It did warm up to the hight 20's today.

Serendipty, oh my word lady. That's horrible!!! I've
never seen that much water freeze like that either. My
DH is bridge forman for our county and just shook his
head and said 'WOW' when I showed him your picture.

Phil did see his shadow this morning but not sure how
much worse it could get for all of you. So hope everyone
up there stays safe and warm when the spring thaw comes.
Thanks so much for sharing this amazing picture with us!
    Serendipity.

This reminds me, a gentleman from Missoula, Montana
built this ice sculpture in his yard this winter that may be
the largest in the world. I'll attach a picture to share with
you. I think it's pretty neat. It was beautiful at Christmas
with all the lights. You can see the star on right top of
    this picture.

    Beautiful Picture Punk...
It's good you can enjoy it from inside your warm home...
That ice sculpture is incredible". ..I wonder how long it
took him. I can imagine how pretty it looked at Christmas.
.. I was just thinking the other day
about the time we couldn't get an oil delivery one Winter, and
then the next Winter we lost power for 8 days!! It still makes me
    shudder...Come On Spring !!
    .Serendipity...welcome...that Falls looks pretty, but
I honestly don't think I could survive both physically and mentally
with that kind of cold! Thankfully for you, it's just seasonal.

Good Morning Everyone, I started my valentine decorating yesterday.
I went outside and this little patch of snow was under one of our chairs
on the deck. Not perfect, but I thought it was pretty neat that we have
    valentine decor outside w/o decorating.LOL

It's snowing with winds and temps are suppose to get below zero
    here for the week.Brrrrr
    Stay warm and safe df's.

    Thanks for the welcome!

The ice really can be beautiful - that sculpture - but it gets really hard for find the beauty when the cold weather just seems to go on and on.

    But, this too shall pass!

Jane, ya right, pretty cool. Is there some kind of message
that comes w/it? So happy all those bad memories are
behind you and us gf! Makes for good stories now!

I hope your cold weather isn't to bad. t's -17 here this
morning. They news last night said -30 to -40 this morning
with wind chill factor. It was 0 at 5 and has continued to
drop fast this morning. Thankful we don't have the wind at
this point. I have blankets loaded in the truck just in case.

Serendipity, I agree it's hard to find the beauty when the
cold winter weather is not playing well w/us. However, I
love it when the sun comes shining down to warm us up
during the winter. Such a pretty scene.

    Stay warm and safe. Punk

Nice pics, punk! They do beautiful and incredible ice and snow sculptures around here too, but I haven't been to a winter-fest in a long while so have no photos to show. :(

nana, I banished my snowmen the other day too! I don't want any decoration that looks like winter. :p

Greetings, serendipity! Love your handle! Same weather as serendipity, it's also been REALLY COLD here for most of Dec & Jan -- but luckily we had two perfectly-timed thaw days that got rid of lots of snow. Just wish we'd get some sun!!!

Jeanne, so good to see you up to posting!

Jane, it's fine living in the northeast... you get used to the cold, right? ;^)

I think it's a great idea if we could all post some outdoor photos from wherever we are! I'll try to get a good outdoor / winter shot this afternoon/evening. In the meanwhile, I will post a photo from the most perfect day we had this past summer! We went to a friend's camp on Otter Lake (in the Adirondacks) and here's a pic of me (right) and my BF going out for a spin on the kayaks... I loved it because the kayaks glide so smooth and silent. It was absolutely *perfect* weather! and a day full of fun!!! :)

Party music - THAT'S what I'm dreaming about to get through this winter!! Only 3 months to go....LOL!

I actually don't mind winter most years - we enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, etc. in the winter - but this year has been brutal and seems so long.

Thanks Party for giving us some hope that all this will
pass!lol Looks like a beautiful day on the lake. I've
never been in a kayak but now that you've enlightened
me they are so smooth, I'll try it if I get another chance.
We always water ski and tube out on the lake. Come to
think of it I haven't water skied since I pulled my groin
bad getting up the last time. All I do is ride the waves in
the tube and try to stay on.

Serendipity, I've never tried snowshoeing. I always
wanted to but didn't pursue it. I can remember when
I didn't miss many weekends snow skiing. Now I have
no desire to drive up the mountain to get there.

I do still love to hike. I haven't taken DGD sledding this
year but hope to do this once it warms up.

    Stay warm and safe. Punk

haha! I figured *somebody* would enjoy seeing a summer scene! :O)

I have snowshoes, but have hardly used them. I love to cross-country ski!!! but it's been WAY too cold to x-c ski this year. I'm hoping the temps and conditions will improve so that I can get out some in Feb and March.

The snowplow knocked the newspaper tube down earlier this winter.
Try to find a newspaper buried under 5 inches of snow with more on the way.
    Ain't it grand?~~~

OK. I'm feeling pretty guilty. It's been like summer here. Warmest January/February I can remember ever.

We need the rain. If it doesn't come soon, you will all be hearing about the forrest fires in Southern California. Everything is so dry here (my skin included).

Hopefully, we'll be getting some relief soon. Drinking water is at a premium in some cities.

You're right, Punk...no snow here :o). In fact we've had a ridiculous "heat wave" and its been in the 80's. But the dogs don't care as long as I go out and play ball with them.

    hugs, Karen

Party, yes, summer will be so Welcomed this year!

Nana, hope the weather is improving in your neck of
the woods! We was suppose to get a foot last night
and only ended up with a skiff.Yeah!!!

OA, guess we should of got the bus and headed your
way! Sure hope you get some rain soon. No fun, to
be concerned about drinking water and fires this early
    in the year!Yikes

Karen, look at you, beautiful lady! Now I know why you
haven't been posting so much lately. Must be time for
    another bus trip your way!

Thanks for sharing the picture! We can't see if we have
    any grass in our yard.lol

This Bluejay was perched for a moment on my 'star' above the bird waterer & then he flew down ... I caught him in flight ... snowy here in our neck-of-the-woods but it's only Feb. & we're back in the deep freeze this week ...should be alot warmer & thawing ...we did have 2 thawing days earlier last week. Oh well, this too shall pass, I hope! ;-)

Pretty pics, Holiday-ers ... fun share! Jeanne S

Jeanne, that's still quite the shot! Bet it looked neat sitting on the
star. Yeah, we've had snow all day but thank goodness it's a
light snow. Suppose to keep snowing all night and may get up
    to 8".

I never get upset w/snow unless it comes in May after I've
planted my flowers out. The roads are taken care of so much
better than they use to so just keep on truckin!'haha

Hope your feeling better. My gf just finished her second round
of chemo and no signs of cancer now. She also had surgery in
between. She felt good enough to join her classmates in Vegas
for a few days of fun.

Praying you'll continue to follow her and soon it'll be over for
    you too.

    Punk
