I have see ones like this. This is the nicest one, however. Luvs altered me to them not long ago. I wish I had known about them when my three were "play kitchen" age. Now they want to use the real thing!

You know, I should think preschools would like this idea too. Much cheaper and MUCH nicer than what you can buy. Maybe they could even find a dad or grandpa who would trade his woodworking abilities for a few months free tuition.

what a clever idea - love it. Also looking at the way they went about it made me think how much that unit could be made to look like the old 'hoosier cabinets - mind is working overtime here - TFS .....

I emailed this to DH (the woodworker)..he loves looking at projects like this..it's such a clever idea.
Every now and then you see these Cabinets at a TS really cheap. You're right OA, I can see a PreSchool liking something like this so much better than the VERY expensive ones they sell in School Catalogs.

I just love them, and I see these cabinets quite often at the TS too. I am just amazed that someone thought to do this! The plastic ones at Toys R Us run from $150 up to nearly $500! Crazy, huh? And the kids outgrow them so quickly too. Luvs

That is wonderful. Love seeing how creative some people are. The entertainment centers like that are every where. We have an expensive Oak one and I use it in my craft room.lol

We bought DGD her pink kitchen sets (one for home and one at G &G)from Costco and they have held up well.
