Bells will be ringing

Wedding Bells that is.
DD3 and her wonderful fiancee are getting married in March.
I am so happy for them.
They are planning a small wedding.
If they were having a large reception I imagine their tables looking something like this.

A table that I saw at a Tablescape event, last winter, was my inspiration.
Of course it was on a much grander scale. I fell in love with it, not knowing I would have reason to copy it.

I used a combination of old and new pieces here. The cut glass stemware belonged to my DGM and DM.
The flatware dates back to the 1920's or 30's
The glass chargers are new from Pier One.

This beautiful vintage tablecloth was a gift from DD1 and DSIL,
they brought it back from a trip to St. Thomas.
I made the napkin rings from pins I found at a flea market.
the little flowers are meant to look like ranunculus, which are one of the bride's favorite flowers.

I just love these battery operated lighted branches.
This one has seed lights, although they don't show up
very well in the pictures. I added beads for more sparkle, and to look more like the original.

close up of the napkin rings. the stones have a much peachier hue in real life.

My son cut a piece of plexiglass I raised to
allow for the under lighting.
I don't remember the number of times I took this table apart, put it back together, added things,
took things away hoping to get the look I was going for.
Any way I hope you enjoy looking.
Most of all I hope the Bride and Groom to be like it.

PS I don't know what I did to get those small pictures lol

Thanks for looking

oooooooo..... I am so excited for you and your DD3!!! Weddings bring such a wonderful stream of get-togethers and celebrations.

Your table is beautiful and the under-lighting is absolutely knock-out gorgeous. I'm wondering how the table height works with the raised plexiglass -- or did you use a shorter table beneath? It's really stunning.

How large is a small wedding these days? My niece got married in July 2011 (what fun!) and the venue she chose could only hold about 100 people. She had trouble keeping her guest list that small because of the size of the families involved. :p

Good luck and have fun! :)

Something old, something new,
It is stunning!
Congrats to you!!

I love the underlighting and the lighted branches.
This table is perfect for a wedding and I am sure the kids will love it too!!

It has just the right amount of sparkle and elegance.
Beautiful job and execution.

What an exciting time for you and your family!

RE: Bells will be ringing

Very elegant and I love the lighted tables...very unique! The soft colors are very nice too and your table settings are beautiful.

Congratulations to you and the lucky couple!

Nana, this table is GORGEOUS. I love everything about it. The lights are just stunning under this beautiful setting. Can you tell I'm sooo impressed?Big sigh

So happy to hear DD3 will be married in March. Sounds like you and her fiancee have a nice relationship which is so important. I have a wonderful SIL and feel blessed to have him in our family.

So glad you have a reason to celebrate.

Nana Congratulations to you and the happy couple!
Your table is just lovely and so elegant looking with the
under lighting!
Love the soft color combination and the beautiful CP.
I like lighted branches too and I think the extra beads
adds a nice sparkle.
I think one day I'm going to 'steal' your idea for the napkin rings...LOVE IT!
I'm happy for all of you and the wonderful ocassion to plan for..

RE: Bells will be ringing

Peach is such a feminine color to me ~~I love the jeweled napkin rings that you made ...& aren't those battery lights just special!! Looks so pretty! & WOW... the under lighting...fabulous! I'm sure the bride & groom will love this! TFS! Jeanne S.

RE: Bells will be ringing

Congratulations to your family. I'll bet the bride will love your ideas for table settings. How lucky she is to have a built-in decorative consultant.

RE: Bells will be ringing

Congrats, nana!
Your table is beautiful, very elegant!
Will you be doing the tables for the wedding?

RE: Bells will be ringing

Thanks everyone. This is an exciting time for us.
DD3's upcoming wedding and DD4 got engaged at Christmas.
PM, the table is raised just over 2 inches. It shouldn't make much difference for seating.
There will be about 50 people at the wedding.
Jane, please 'steal' my idea for the napkin rings.
I'd love to see what you come up with.
I miss seeing your your wonderful tables.
I hope your house sells soon.
Jeanne, Peach is my daughter's favorite color and she is using it in her wedding.
Fun, my DD did love my ideas, she is going with something
simpler, tho.
Kathleen, thank you. I won't be doing the wedding tables.
She lives to far away, and it would be too hectic.
I want to be able to spend the time with her, before the ceremony.
Thanks again everyone.

RE: Bells will be ringing

In your secret life, you are a wedding planner I presume? ;o) That is such a PRETTY table!
Tho its good you won't be having to do the work for 50 or so people, and can just enjoy the big event.

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding and the recent engagement of your girls. How exciting for you, and them!!

hugs, Karen
