Photos of inside drawers, sides of drawers, bottom of the outside of the drawers, and inside of chest without the drawers would be helpful. please include side and back view of body of the dresser as well, if you can. Has it been stripped and re finished at some point? It is difficult to tell what kind of wood it is from the photo. On the underside of the body or the back, or on any of the drawers are there any markings? My first impression is that it is not super old, but photos can be very misleading. What do you know of its history?

There are places everywhere that do work that meets or exceeds anything that comes out of the factory. Bondo Bob's discount auto body isn't the only act in town. Easy example, go to any car show anywhere. Tell the owners of some of those that in your opinion their cars are bondo specials and the factory paint looked better than the paint job they have and see what response you get. Better have an escape route before you say that though. News flash, body filler isn't a bad thing. The factory uses it too. The owner chooses where to have their car repaired. It's up to the owner to do the research and pick a shop that replaces parts that need to be, only uses factory parts if you so desire, and has the ace painter and equipment. A good painter will have to take his skill level down a couple notches if anything to match the factory job. The hard part is trying to match the factory defects. As to the subject of the thread, 90% of this cars' depreciation to date happened the second it was signed over to the puchaser and at that moment no longer considered 'new'. $ value lost due to this is minimal. The majority dollar value lost is due to buyer remorse, accident or no accident. I understand feeling that if one wanted a wrecked or repainted car, one would have saved the money and purchased one used rather than pay extra for new. The reality of it is the other party and the insurance company are going to look at it as being repaired as good as it ever was. That's all that can be done so get over it. Unfortunately, that's life.

Insurance claims adjuster here, and we address these sorts of claims all the time. Not me personally (I handle injury claims), but another dept. To start with, you'll want any paperwork you've got from the purchase of the vehicle, as well as records of any maintenance/service that's been completed. Expect that the process won't really start until after repairs are completed. Ask the adjuster who is doing the vehicle damage estimate. If you don't get some movement, go to his/her supervisor.

The handle bar may seem out-sized, but that may be due to how this picture was composed. It appears to have been made with the lens set for wide angle and was near the trike. This causes an exaggerated view where objects near the lens are out-of-scale large compared the the background items. Most likely, the handle bar is made of low carbon steel. It is very dirty and dusty. It might appear much different if it were cleaned. It looks very much like trikes ca 1950 era. I have performed minor servicing on these when employed at a service station. That was mostly lubricating and adjusting the handle bar height. The design of these did not change much from 1948 through 1958 when manufacturers and parents became interested is safer designs. Those old style trikes were easy to tip over. Plastic frames with vastly different shapes began replacing metal ones.
