Car alarm

Have a 98 Transport that has been having electrical problems for awhile. Every time I turn around it's something else. I can't afford car payments, and I'm trying to milk it for all that it's worth. When I lock the doors by remote the alarm goes off a few minutes later. I can stop the alarm with the remote, and if I lock it again by using the remote, the same things happens. Any suggestions? Thank you.

RE: Car alarm

Watch to see if the interior light is coming on when the alarm, goes off. You might even notice one of the doors actually has a tendency to report "door ajar" once in a while. If this is not the case, then it would be one of the other vehicle tamper switch/circuits that is causing the alarm to false trigger.

A tech with the proper (factory) scan tool, (the TECH II) would be able to monitor the vehicle and when the problem occurs see which circuit is causing the theft deterrent to trip falsely.
