Thanks for the suggestions. I will try the Seafoam and carb spray, Seafoam (not used this before and not sure what it is) and will check bout the time delay module. Also, not sure what marvel is. I see on internet a product called Marvel mystery oil. Is that it? I didn't let the gas run when I changed filter. My tank is almost empty. Should I just take fuel filter out and let the gas run out of the line and then get new gas? Is the intermittent coughing and sputtering something caused by sticky valves occurr more under load?

My friend bought a SV2000 DVD recorder to use on her Magnavox TV (model # 25f800 7583) but the tv is mono. She connected the coaxial correctly, but the tv itself does not let her turn to AUX, INPUT, etc. through the remote nor on the tv itself. It only has a MENU button, but it does not work. She's tried channels, 2,3,4 and went below 2 to see if the AUX/ INPUT would be accessed that way, but no luck. Any suggestions?

Inteference problems are a pain to diagnose, but the good news is that in just about every case the cause can be located. Since your inteference problem is recent you should look for changes that may have occured in and around your home recently. Also, since hte interference affects sets connected to both inside and outside antennas it is safe to rule out cable and ground issues, atleast as far as the antennas go. Since the inteference also affects all channels, it is rather unlikely that weather conditions alone are to blame. Weather conditions typically will either 1.) attenuate distance signals making them noisier or blanking them out completely, or 2.) allowing distant signals on the same channel to travel farther thus causing inteference to nearby stations. While #2 could still be a likely cause, I'm thinkin something electrical is to blame. The questions I normally as are: 1. Have you purchases/installed/connected any electronics, appliances, computers, ANYTHING electric around the time the inteference began? 2. To the best of your knowledge has any of your immediate neighbors done the same in regards to new electrical equipment. 3. Look for cause-effect relationships. Does the inteference start when someone dries their hair, uses an electric shaver, does laundry, etc. 4. Any new construction nearby? Power tools, especially arc welders can cause electrical noise from longer distances, sometimes ranging from hundreds to thousands of feet. 5. Probably not applicable down there, but electric heat and water heaters if they develop a problem can cause inteference too. There are other tips, but I think you get the idea. If you still get stuck, don't hesitate to call one of your local tv stations and ask for some guidance. Make sure you ask for someone in the engineering department, they are used to dealing with these issues on a regular basis. Best of luck! - Steve

Yep, had this one. Took a while to figure it out. Take that WD40 you used on the tape glue (hahaha...good idea) and lubricate all the joints and rollers on the door. This should take some of the drag off. Otherwise, readjust the safety tension settings. Another area that gave me a problem was dust and spider webs around the eye sensors. I even had a hard time getting the door to close when it was snowing one day. I finally figured out snow flakes were breaking the beam enough to trip the safety. I also ran across a strange one for a friend of mine. Like yours, when winter hit, the door started giving problems. We finally determined the sun was affecting the receiver eye so we swaped the mounting positions and it never happened again. It seems the shift of the suns position in winter was just enough to cause the anxiety.
