Twice last summer, when I was doing evening chores, I watched a wild turkey hen come out of the woods, flirt with my tom turkey, mate with him, and then go back to the woods. I drove an old KW one night near midnight the wipers did just that; 1/2 way across and they stuck. Well I did the best I could with what I had. I tied a 1/2 inch rope to the drivers side wiper arm ran it outside the mirror bracket back into the cab and held it in my left hand. Then when the arm quit I guv it a jerk with the rope and it would come all the way left--back to the right--then 1/2 way again. Several hours. There is more to truck driving than grabbing gears. Next morning I rolled into the shop and axt em if they could improve it. They replaced the big rope with an nice lanyard and a T-handle. Regular fellows they were. :-)

If you live in an area where it's been freezing, and the washer won't pump out fluid in the morning or after sitting for a period in the cold, but will do so after the engine has been running for a while, or after the car has sat for a half hour or so after the engine has warmed up, perhaps you've topped up the reservoir with fluid that wasn't rated for cold weather and has been freezing in the tubes, but thaws after the engine compartment gets warm for long enough to thaw them out. If it's been cold enough to freeze the liquid in the reservoir, this solution won't work, of course. Probably pour hot water over it several times, if it won't cause complications in other parts of the system as it flows down to the ground. Or blow a hair dryer on it for an hour or so, until it thaws enough to pump some of it out, then add hot water to the tank to thaw the rest, pump it all out, refill with seasonally-adjusted stuff. Or remove the tank, take it into the house for a day - probably a lot of work. Hope you get it straightenedd out without too much difficulty. ole joyful

To recap, I need to get a new mid-pipe (also called intermediate pipe), resonator, and muffler for my MK2 Jetta. Another way of describing what I need is a "cat-back" exhaust system. It's amazing what you learn on this forum. I'm trying to get a new exhaust system in my car before I take it for inspection at the end of the month. What I like about these folks is that shipping is free with orders over $50.00 (I think. I need to check back with them. My memory is failing me.
