LindaC, it's not a bonfire unless it can be seen from Outer Space. LOL Have a party, rent a flame thrower and go for it! Actually I was thinking more of just a couple of jars at a time. (grin) It would also be good in smoothies with yogurt, or layered with yogurt and granola for a parfait, or maybe as a fruit filling for thumbprint cookies or tiny butter cookie tarts. Annie

WD-40, Vaseline etc are bad choices. Pure silicone spray (and that's silicone only, not with oil carriers or anything) is what you should use and don't forget the locks and hinges too. Spray both surfaces where they touch each other. So spray the seal on the car body and around the door frame where it contacts. Spray the lock both on the frame and on the door so essentially you'll have silicone touch silicone in case you miss something but with the spray you'll get good coverage. Be careful (but don't be paranoid) to not inhale the fumes if it's breezy out. If you haven't treated routinely, it's a good idea to make several applications over a week or two. then do again once or twice a year. If you're forced to use water or something to open a frozen door as a desperate last measure, get the vehicle inside a heated place to be dried out and treated. Although you weren't talking about locks, remember to never use graphite in a lock - only silicone. When graphite gets wet it turns to mud, where silicone will shed the moisture and protect the surfaces too. The way it's been around here lately I thought it's time for a car wash contest. That's where everyone washes their cars, waits 15 minutes and see who can get into their car first!

sumnerhousesf.com: Anytime you see orange and marble it's not a good thing. The orange is probably rust. Something metal is oxidizing inside/under that marble, causing the failure and the orange. It must be removed for a permanent repair. You're going to get guys offering to fix this for $150.00. It may look nice for a month or so, but that's setting money on fire. I would remove the shower door, remove the marble, replace it with a solid surface marble look-alike, and reinstall the door. Around $1,200.00, but a permanent fix.
