Wife was coming home from work and it started sputtering on her then finally died. She was able to get it home but now it doesn't want to run. Rented a machine to hook up to computer and it said, the fuel injection on number three could be one of the possibilities, replaced it, still not working. replaced map sensor, still not working, Any ideas to try next? Four cylinder.

I would try taking it to a shop where it can be fully diagnosed and repaired. Odds are $600 or less will cover it no matter what's wrong with it. I'm all for doing what you can yourself. When it gets to the blindly throwing parts at it stage, it's time to go a different direction.
