Mineral Oil - Improve Gas mileage?

Posted by piddlerdad3 (My Page) on

I had someone recommend to me that I should try putting a few ounces of pure mineral oil in my gas tank and in my crankcase in order to boost gas mileage.

Is this a reliable and safe thing to do for gasoline vehicles? I would rather not have any negative consequences to my engine.

Thanks, dennis

At the least, it would be a waste of the mineral oil. Otherwise, the answer is NO, don't do it.

Would think few ounces of mineral oil should increases your volume of gas. Might squeek when you walk though.
