Could i get a little help on this what is the best car wax you can buy for clear coat.

the kind you pay the extra buck for when you drive through the auto carwash.

I use Nu-Finish which was #1 rated by a well known consumer reporting magazine several years ago. I technically is not a wax though.

"The reccomendation is to buy one that says ORBITAL on the box so you can *not* mess up your paint. Is this correct?" Yep, Orbital and DA polishers are pretty safe. Pro's use a rotory because they're fast, but it's real easy to burn the paint with those so they're not recommended for amatures. As far as I know, anything you rub on or off by any means will leave a marks, either swirls or side to side. I use a DA to apply the wax, and remove by hand. I try to do it twice a year, but have been falling behind with it since I got old and tired...and don't give a 'sh' anymore.

A shower door is made out of glass. You can wax it. Wax will not ruin the door. If you polish it appropriately, there will not be any waxy film. If you have ever waxed your own car, you know that if you rub it out properly, there will be no haze, only a shiny finish that repels water. I have used wax on my shower and like how it works. The wax will not run off the door and onto the shower floor. That being said, you'll probably still have to squeegee it or wipe it down with a towel after showering if you want absolutely no spots. But there will be a lot less water to move around because most will simply run off.

Care of brushed/satin finish stainless faucets?

We have a Kohler "vibrant stainless" (a/k/a brushed or satin finish) kitchen faucet. The directions for care indicated certain gentle cleaners (Clorox GreenWorks being one, which I already have,,, so I remember that one). There was nothing about waxing the faucet. Each brand is different, though, so what works for ours may not work for yours.

I'm well convinced of the effectiveness of a clay bar. A friend showed me his car half way through clay barring it, so there was before and after on the same car. Amazing! I immediately ordered a Meguiar clay bar kit along with their NTX 2.0 wax. I can try the baby shampoo on half the car and car soap on the other half and see how the water beads up between washings. I'll start with a shampoo dilution of 1 part shampoo to 2 parts water and use that in the foam gun. Does anyone else have a specific knowledge of the chemistry and could help with this?

Probably Mothers Reflection for clear coat. For classic do it often, a carnuba wax by any of the well knows.

Interesting. I had replied to this post earlier, and that earlier post has vanished!! I second the Mothers products!! Love them, espcially their vinyl cleaner.

If the thread stays alive long enough, every brand and type made will be listed here as 'the best'. Best car brand, best motor oil, best tire, best wax, ect., all hot topics that everyone has an opinion on.

Nufinish is great. also car washes take wax off of cars...

I like this. Only place that I can find it locally is at auto paint supply stores.

Hands down the best product used by professionals for the ultimate auto polish is..... LIQUID GLASS!

It's safe for clear coats too!
