Hard to do a distance diagnosis on these, but looking at the leaves I see some sort of fungal leaf spot. Likely caused by wet weather, if in fact wherever the unknown location was subject to wet weather wherever the OP lives. You can't spray something willy-nilly and hope it is the right spray to kill the fungus. Certainly pick up all (a-l-l) the litter on the ground and any lvs that fall should be tossed as well. Hopefully summer will kill the fungus but not a guarantee. The particular fungus should be idenfied before going to the BigBox and purchasing something on sale in hopes of success. County Extension Agent should know pretty soon, as the US NE should be rife and rampant with such problems this year. Maybe a location-specific forum on this website already has a discussion on this issue, as I suspect the weather has wreaked havoc on many US locations this year. Dan

When you speak of Camaros, the 69 is usually the one folks really go for. One reason is there were more 69's made than any other year. They were in production for a year and a half while GM tooled up for the 70 and the huge body style change from 69 to 70. The 1970 is technically the 70.5 but most no one ever refers to it as such any more. There is also the mild difference in taste mentioned in the above post. The 69 is a little longer, flatter looking, than the 67 and 68 was. Someone mentioned trying to find a car from the SW as well to keep the rust issue down. That is great advice also. My 67 came from Georgia and I have a pretty decent body on mine, the body was my biggest concern. If you are looking for a driver and not a numbers matching car, then you can always pick up a crate engine and drop in. All F Bodies (Camaros and Firebirds) have some common rust areas that are more susceptiable to rust. Look carefully at the area around the back glass, lower front quarter pannels and lower portion of the rear quarter pannels. You will most likely find some metal repair, bondo or rust in those places. As for handling and stopping, many are converting Corvette disc brake systems now to put on their 1st generation F Body cars. There are also a ton of suspension upgrades you can do to make the car drive and handle much more like a modern car. On my 67 Camaro, I'm most likely going to do a brake upgrade in the future, but I personally like the raw, performance feel of the original type of suspension and handling. I can go on for hours on this subject, they others are giving good advice on this as well. Bottom line, do your home work, and make sure to fatten up your bank account because this isn't a cheap hobby by any means. It does help to find a club as well. You can get lots of advice, some education on repairs and the cars as well. Plus having a couple of buddys help with the heavy work involved is something invaluable! Everyone thinks the oyster paint is too contrasty, I know I'm wrong but I do like the crispness of it. I bought a parchmently yellow-white when i first did his office and painted a little and we both went "nyyyuuh banana". But I guess the oyster was not the right solution. But we do love the barky brown green, it's just right. Yes, the flooring in the building transitions from hardwood to underlayment in the office. For whatever reason the prior occupant decided to leave the hardwood that existed uncovered and just cover the underlayment with carpet. So that is generally aggravating. She also painted the bottom half cranberry red and the top half battleship grey. I can't tell you how many coats of white I put on before I gave up and bought a primer&paint in one. Should have primed first. alli - the layout you suggested makes sense, especially because he's have a smooth surface under his rolly chair. my original thought was to put the bookshelves on the wall shared with the main hallway so that the view from the door remained "cleaner" as a client came in and also the client would sit with his back to the bookshelves. and then dh could have the interesting bookshelves as a backdrop instead of a blank wall. plus the little chairs i reuphoultered look kind of puny sitting out in the middle of the room, but that's what we have for now. i'll move things around a little and take another photo. I think maybe what I'll do is go measure everything in the room and do a layout too if that's okay. my ultimate plan was to move the rug under the worktable once I bought one. As for the worktable, I'd like something solid and furniture like with some "gravitas". What was unlikeable about the top of the table? I figured if anything people would not like the legs. I think the antique person said it was used in a local historical home as a pastry table? Is it too kitchenish? I thought the stone top kind of looked like the water and rocks in his painting. Again, I'm not stubborn, I know I don't know what I'm doing - that's why I'm glad of the help. i'm glad you guys like the desk, it's a funny story. i was shocked when no one else bid on it and i got it for my opening bid. but when i showed dh, he grinned and pointed out that according to the ebay listing that it was about the size of a childrens desk or maybe a weird coffee table. i hadn't noticed that -so i had all sorts of buyer's remorse, but a deal is a deal, so we drove 2 hours to go pick it up anyway, figuring that we could relist it or give it away... and tadah! the guy had typo'd the measurements and it was actually not toy-sized. so that was happy! it was also grossly dirty when we started, but a linseed oil/beeswax type thing really really helped. we don't have cool relatives who give us antiques, but we did drive to sewickley in pittsburgh to pick it up so we refer to it as "great uncle sewickley's desk" i'm very excited about the map shopping suggestions and the retailmenot link - but conflicted whether to continue reading gardenweb compulsively or dash off in the quest for maps :) Unfortunately, the top really does need redone. Although the desk has survived happily unscathed for about 100 years, when the prior owner and my husband loaded it they whacked the top and the veneer got kind of shattered on one side. It doesn't show so badly in the photo but it's very visible. i thought about a glass top, but i was afraid DH might start sticking business cards, phone numbers and lunch menus under it because it was convenient. Actually glass IS a good idea and a simple solution. He wouldn't use a desk calendar because his scheduling is all computerized. I hope I'm not chatting everyone to death about this, it's thrilling to see the responses and I get all wound up :)

You did purchase a quality window. Not unlike every other window in the marketplace, Marvin does not make every component in the window and if something like the balance (usually sourced from a 3rd party) had a long term defect, it would be unknown to Marvin until they already had the units in circulation for years. Not altogether different from a car company that has a recall of sorts sever years after the fact. Nice thing about hardware is that is quite easily serviced. I am sure that if you contact Marvin, they would be happy to discuss some resolution with you. They have since extended the warranty on the Integrity product line up on many items and give the modularity and serviceability of items like the balance systems, it should be an easy fix for you. Was your dealer the one that sourced the windows for you? Seems like it would be an easy enough conversation with the dealer to get them to help with Marvin in providing the balances or at least sharing in the expense of the balances if these were truly units that were known to be, years later, defective. In an absolute worst case scenario, balance mechanisms aren't usually that expensive and can be sourced from folks like Blaine Hardware in Maryland if Marvin can't/won't help. I don't see that being a necessity, but if the only thing wrong with the windows after 10 years is some balances, I can promise you that there are countless stories of folks that are far worse off inside that same time period. Either way, I think Marvin will probably want to help out if I know anything about the company and their past handling of issues. Happy 4th of July!!!
