We were actually pretty surprised yesterday. We got our stuff together to check some hives and as we were throwing some empty supers in the truck just in case, it started raining. We decided to go anyway. The rain stopped and the bees were doing more than we expected. We put a 3rd and 4th super on two older hives and a first super on two that we started in may. The bees must be using umbrellas. Yes, I'm making my own lip balm, hand lotion, and candles, which are filling in the gap and are a good addition to the honey sales. I've also been making soap for our own use, and also want to sell it, but I have to get around to making a label.
