Rating your purchase experience

The dealer who sold me my Honda said I will be getting a call, asking me about my car buying experience. While I love the car, I was not crazy about the experience. My question is, will my opinion matter one way or the other?

could be a jd powers survey coming your way. I know some dealers toot their own horn on how well perform on initial customer satisfaction.

VW did this (tried to, actually) with both of my purchases. The dealer made it very clear that "any mark less than a five [the top score] is a failure". Apparently things like car allocations, etc., are based in part on these scores.

I refused to take part in it. Giving them a five on every score seemingly confirms that the experience could not be improved upon and, while I didn't have a bad experience either time; I refuse to declare them perfect purchases. The first time I just scored as I saw it; the second I didn't even bother to return the call since they obviously did not get the message the first time.

Respond if you want to, but you can always politely decline ("Oops -- the sheriff is here. Gotta go.") :-)

Veimar.. Sing, talk, heck dance with your plants..whichever method works is all that matters. I'd love to attend a group or university where plant studies are done. Are you familiar with Calatheas? Leaves move suddenly like their cousin, Maranta, 'Prayer Plant.' I had one Calathea with large leaves that jerked suddenly and fiercely, one leaf would occasionally knock down a smaller, neighboring plant. I don't know why it didn't happen before. Many mysteries in this old world. Please don't get me started about people who buy plants or BIRDS to match furniture. Laura, I'm okay, thank you. It's too bad your work hours are so long. Or maybe not. Don't you love people who know their minds? lol. Laura, you're joking, but I knew a few people who's s/o's were jealous of everything including inanimate objects. Rodden, can't say I blame you. 5-months of winter! Summer 2013 through winter was the worse, coldest. I think we had 2-weeks in the 90's then back to cool. I thought OK was dry??? Low humidity? I can deal with heat, but when temps rise over 100F, I need more than a fan and open windows. Don't like a/c though. Plants are on stand-still when temps get too hot. Since you have rocky soil, you'd definitely need to amend. What about succulents grown in-ground? Agave, Optuntia? My niece lives in Lake Zurich, but she has artificial plants. lol. Sorry about your mom. I imagine your winters are nicer than our spring...warm enough for potted plants to be outside. What type of plants interest you? Laura, VA got hit with 13" of snow? Bargains on eBay: What is your experience?

If it were not for shipping charges there would be plenty of bargains. Nearly everything I've bought on there (less than a dozen things) was a "bargain", mostly small advertising or paper items that don't cost much to ship & were of limited appeal. As for some of those outrageous prices, why don't those people just go down to the local auction barn buy it cheap?

Well, our experience has been different than the vast majority of the folks here. We bought a latex king combination from one of the main suppliers I read about on this forum, back in 2004. I think it was sleep EZ, but I am not sure. They were fine to deal with, and that is not the issue. We are now ready to change to something else (actually long overdue) because my husband is really getting back problems from our bed. We have shifted the layers a few times to try and make it firmer, but it just doesn't give him the support he thinks he needs. Further, it sags in the center of each side, where we sleep. It seemed to do this fairly soon after we bought it, so about 4 years ago, I had a local mattress place make us a box spring set for underneath. I had hoped that would help with the sagging issue, but it did not. The only part now that is good is right down the middle, where it has had the least use over the years and where the two box springs meet. I did speak to Shawn at sleep ez and I am going to just try taking out the box spring and softest layer of the latex and see if that helps. I wish I could recommend the latex, but for us, it hasn't been quite what we hoped. Do not worry about the layers because the padded cover they fit snugly inside keeps it all in place. Mac Computer: seeking your experience and opinions.

Let's see if I can explain in the limited time I have; if I don't finish, I'll come back later or tomorrow. Have hubby's last chemo & radiation today. In my office I have a dual boot Windows machine - running XP (pro I think) and Vista. I also have the Mac. I have not tried to put Windows of any flavor on the Mac; it was on my list of things to do. I was going to buy the program verses what's on the Mac. My pain management Dr did it; he had some issues with drivers. Not sure if he did XP or Vista. The Mac worked fine at 1st. I was able to Network; I was able to access the Windows machine both sides. When on the Windows PC; I was able to access the Mac from both. I'm not sure what changed and when but eventually I wasn't able to access either puter - I made user accounts on Windows (both sides) and now am able to access Windows (both sides) from the Mac. The problem is accessing the Mac from Windows. Granted, it very well may be me; because I haven't been as "heavy" into building & using the computer since we moved. The most I do is work with pictures; for that I use Windows because the Mac photo program confuses me. I like Windows much better all the way around because of ease of use; software works & I can do things without reading a manual. With the Mac, I feel so stupid some days. I haven't installed anything except firefox.. forgot how. lol It's so simple too from what I remember but I have to get the dummy book to do it again. lol One thing that will not work on the Mac is my Microsoft Works. All of my medical databases are made with works. I looked for a Mac plug in (reader) but they don't have one. I also don't want to have to replace my full Office suite.

SteveO, I think we agree on everything.
After I bought this house, I was getting survey after survey for the builder in the mail. Some of which actually had cash ($2 bills) in them! I wasn't so fond of the builder at that time so I wrote some strong opinions on the survey and mailed it back not filling in the bubbles with a #2 pencil. When my warranty ran out, I had a roof leak that cause some damage to the ceiling. It was out of warranty and didn't expect the builder to fix it but sure enough they sent out a drywall crew and roofer and it didn't cost me a dime. It was then that I wish I had some surveys to mail in. I don't think there's room for improvement in that department.

When I bought my last truck (a toyota), I had gone to several toyota dealers and I love toyos but their dealers are the worst. They seem to have an endless supply of customers with bad credit to take advantage of so when I wanted a good deal, they didn't even want to give me the time of day when I told them my credit is perfect. I had numerous bad experiences with toyoships. Such as a salesman actually showed me the front door and told me to have a nice day when I said I wasn't going to buy that very day.

Then I was going to give up and buy a domestic since they are much more accommodating and don't let you leave the dealership no matter how bad you want to. Out of the blue a salesman saw a form I filled out online from the one dealership I didn't go to. He called up and said there's only one truck in the country right now with the specs you want and it's not here (it was at a dealership I walked out of because they were a bunch of turds and didn't want to deal) but I'm going to go get it and come on by in an hour it will be here. An hour later I arrive and the truck I test drove a week earlier at the other dealership was sitting there in front of the dealership. The price we agreed to on the phone was honored without any games and the finance manager spent about 3 hours with me walking back and forth and negotiating until I was happy with the deal. That was exceptional service and I don't think it could have improved in any way but my expectations were pretty much set so low that all they had to do was what they were supposed to do (sell me a frecken car) and I would be happy. And I didn't get any surveys from them.

That salesman is no longer with the dealership. My lease ran out and didn't have time to dilly dally with this nonsense so I just bought it from the leasing company.

any time i have to part with more than 20 bucks, theres very little you can do that will make me happy! so unless i win a new car the dealer delivers it, pays the taxes, and buys me dinner. sorry you wont get a high rating from me.

I did the man went over everything.I was impressed.I sent a letter to his boss telling them how nice an experience we had there.Id go back ...

I just got a call from Honda with their survey. I gave them a earful, for what it's worth.
