Seatbelt buckle problem

| I have a 1996 Ford Explorer. The seatbelt on the driver's side will not stay buckled. I'm bringing it to my mechanic tomorrow, but was wondering if this will end up as a big repair, or is it something as small as something stuck in the buckle. |

| Expensive? Who knows. Could be a broken spring. At worst case, the receiver part of the buckle gets replaced, and that should not be terribly expensive. There may be an electrical connection or switch in the works. The buckle has to be fastened to shut up the seat belt warning. If you are lucky, Ford may opt to repair at cost. This is a safety related item. |
