ideas on how/where to sell a box truck

My husband became disabled & sold his bread route back to the company. He kept the truck thinking to start a moving company or something with me doing the work. That didn't pan out & we want to sell the truck. It's set up for a year & I want to get rid of it before it sits too long. I've tried my nearest craigslist & got scammers. Its a 2006 Isuzu tilt cab with lift gate. Any sites I could put it on?

Try placing an ad in your local newspaper.

Go to a filing station and look for the 'free' sales publications usually near the road maps. If you see one you like, consider placing an ad in it. It may reach a wider audience than the local newspaper.

You might look into selling it on consignment. Ask local outfits if they will do that. The truck would get far more exposure on their lot.

They might rake too much off the top but the alternative is not selling it at all or selling it for much less or even junking it. Be sure to check the junk value and ongoing license and insurance and permit expense as a comparison to establish a base for your decision.

Can you sell the truck with a permit? That can help.

I used to get bulk leaf mold using my Subaru stationwagon and a blue tarp. Lay down the back seat and crack the rear windows about an inch. Lay in the tarp from the back of the front seats and out the back of the hatch. pull one corner of the tarp through the open rear window then close it on the tarp from the driver's controls assuming you have power windows. Do the same with the other rear window pulling the tarp tight before you close the window on the tarp. With the tarp anchored in place, extend it up the inside side windows and start shoveling the compost on it. When full, flip the back of the tarp over the pile, close the sides on theflap and secure with bungies.

Unless that boulder is made of pumice, you are looking at at least 1500 pounds! Think of how much a yard (3x3x3ft) of rock mulch weighs: usually about a ton(2000 lbs.). You could call a landscape supply place that sells rock mulch to varify. I am trying to remember what the max load is on a Home Depot truck, I think it is 1500 pounds. Better call them to make sure. In addition, even if you were able to get in on the truck, just rolling it off would damage the hinges that hold the side walls on, if not crushing the side wall itself. Barring a loader, a tow truck, I think, would be the best option. One that has a tiltable bed. Still, you would need some way to facilitate the sliding of the rock onto the bed without too much friction. Pulling a vehicle onto the bed is easy: it has wheels. Dragging a rock is a completely different thing.

I would love to go as organic as possible since the trees are in my back yard and I have little ones, but we have not decided yet. We wanted to see how things were going to turn out this year with minimal care. We were too late to spray a dormant oil, we did get to spray some Serenade and we might still spray with Surround if I can find a good reliable source. I learned about bagging fruit so I did a few. I've been a gardner but this is my first time dealing with fruit trees. The trees were in bad condition so we spent most of our time cleaning up and prunning. I'll look into cider pressing. Thanks!

My mother used a smaller, two-layer Whitman's box as a sewing box. It had a lot of little cardboard compartments. As decor, I could see this as the start of a collection. Keep on the lookout for other pretty boxes that you like and when you have enough, display them on a shelf in the kitchen. I like luckygals' idea of spraying it to preserve it. I have a huge tin box that once held Walker's shortbread. It is mostly red plaid, with a bit of Christmas decoration on it. During the year, it holds some Christmas stuff and acts as storage. This time of year, it gets dusted off and filled with old ornaments and acts as a big decoration. It's also used to transport large numbers of Christmas cookies to parties. But it was far too good-looking to throw out.
