Here in Madison, Wisconsin, our raspberries are beginning to leaf out. This is despite a cool and overcast spring. My experience has been that raspberries are pretty hardy with regard to frost, they will withstand a light frost with little or no damage. Two days of freezing weather would be something else-I would not expect the raspberry leaves to survive. You might be able to cover your raspberry transplants with a 5 gallon plastic bucket, in the event of a hard frost. That would likely give good protection, even if you had to prune back the canes a bit to make the bucket fit.

Excellent! I have a caryopteris I will put your name on, as well as a campanula. I will go now in my night gardening outfit and get you some heucheras. Be careful! They are addictive! If you have any of the peonies left, I would love to have one of those. I'm also interested in the Trilelia bulbs, although I cannot find them on Google. Basically, I love bulbs so if they are still available I would give them a go. I will bring you several labeled Heuchera and I also have plants that are not listed on my trade list. Sorry, David, it's hard to take a picture of myself, LOL, and I was so busy in the kitchen I didn't even think to take a picture of Mother! Gina, that is indeed a "spray on" tan. You know she didn't get that tan in Michigan in May, it's 51F and raining right now, not much beach time. :-) RR, it was a bit crazy but it all came together in the end, although I only got out of the kitchen long enough to watch the cake cutting, the bouquet and garter toss and I had ONE dance with the groom. Other than that, it was all cooking, serving and cleaning up. Ah well, it kept me out of trouble and it was Ashley's party, not mine. She was happy, so it's all good! David, I do have a long weekend and I think maybe I'll make Elery take me out for dinner for my birthday. I'm sure not baking a cake... Uptown Gal, I clearly stated that ALL levels of education are important. And I admire people who have the determination to go through the rigor of getting a degree. The whole of my immediate family,save my mother and myself,have bachelors degrees and some have masters. Their work is important. So is mine. I was responding to a post on which not having a degree or making a ton of money was being equated to not having basic job skills or any pride in one's work. Perhaps you missed that one. And I was giving examples of personal experience in which people surely thought themselves better than I or others simply because they have a higher education. I say this because THEY SAID THIS. The girl that is in my department says ALL THE TIME that she is overqualified because of her degree. She also says that if our department were ever eliminated (where THAT came from I dont know) she thinks the company would find her another position within the company, because she has a a degree, but she doesn't know what the rest if us will do. Even the man who needed HELP was spouting about the "slow idiots who don't know how to make a tire." I wonder if he does.... The "no common sense " comment was referring to the man who could not or would not make the connection between an infestion of a rodent and removing it's natural predator. Not you or anyone else except the person I was talking about. I do not know you and so was not talking about you and I am not sure why you think I was. I gave 3 examples of 3 specific people. And I never claimed to be more intelligent than anyone. Not sure I am the one with an anger problem. Schoolhouse, it really doesn't matter if you believe me.
