Old oil issues...
Comments (3)Thanks for the follow up guys. I am a little anal-retentive with oil changes, "cheapest insurance you can buy" as my grandpa says. Most of my equipment I run HD-30 oil in, and I've actually employed the fuel injector cleaner tip before. I picked up a wisconsin-robin engined commerical snapper from the side of the road. Worked great for a couple of years, then the 20+ year old engine started to really lose compression. Just bit the bullet and bought a Husqvarna 7021R with the 160cc Honda, very nice. Thanks again guys, and any more advice / ideas / tips you care to offer up I'll take 'em!...See Morerx75 Oil change re drain plug issue
Comments (15)tomplum & mownie-Thanks for your insight and I'm pleased for several reasons. 1. It just may be something I'll manage. 2. It tells me that I was on the right track and didn't turn something I shouldn't have-which obviously could give me an entirely new group of things to blog about.....and the queue is HUGH already :):) Yes, that little brass threaded knob, both outside and inside, is almost impossible to both get my hand or a tool into and then I can only turn the knob 'maybe' 1/12 of a turn. 3. That the comment regarding disassembling the obstructions around the area would be both a last resort as well as cumbersome. I have a few times after 'sailor speaking' to the Jr JD have considered that option, but have keep at my original attempts in hopes of success. All who have responded have been great, ALL :). And thanks for pulling up the blog site to take a peek at the photos. For those of you who are mechanically literate I hope you will find that while reading it shaking your head and saying 'new meaning to the word stupid' as well be assumed when I succeed. Again, Thanks and I'll report if I am successful....See MoreMaking things easier
Comments (2)while that is one way, i like mine much more. i have the Logitech Harmony 880 remote and programmed it for different activities. if we want to watch a DVD, it turns on ONLY the TV and switches it to HDMI2/turns on DVD player/Surround Sound system. hit the button to watch Sat TV and it turns off the DVD, switches the TV to HDMI input 1, turns on the Sat RX. want to listen to the radio, it turns on teh surround system and switches it to radio input mode. and so on and so forth. even my 4 year old knows how to get it to DVD mode to watch her movies....See MoreAuto Insurance @#%?
Comments (19)I'm anti-Allstate now as well. First of all, they dropped my parents' home insurance after they'd been clients for at least 30 yrs due to one break-in. That put them into a high-risk pool which nearly tripled their premium. Before that, it turns out all those years DH and I had a policy that we were in Allstate Idenmity (which is a high risk pool). The agent never told us that we could have switched over 2-3 yrs after DH's last speeding ticket which was 9-21 months into the policy. In fact, he never told us that we were in a high risk pool at all. It was only after we got a new statement and were looking at paying nearly 3K a yr that I began calling around and kept being told Allstate Idenmity is not the same as "normal Allstate". We have Liberty Mutual now and since we're paying what appears to be an extremely fair premium (smile), we'll stay put....See Moreearthworm
