I actually have broccoli and cauliflower outside now that just sprouted. I wintersowed them. The sprouts look VERY healthy and, if anything like my wintersown chamomile that sprouted last week and survived a night around 20 degrees they should do fine. In general, wintersown plants grow when they think it is the right time. So, yes, you can start some plants outside in vented containers...aka milk jugs ;) Check out the wintersowing forum for more info, or wintersown.org. I also have daylilies and brassicas I started inside and plan to move out onto my covered front porch during the day. I'm converting it into a temporary greenhouse with 6 mil plastic. I'll bring them inside during the day. I too have run out of room in front of the window, with lights supplementing the natural light. I have another 3 level growing rack downstairs, but I prefer to have a little natural light as well. sigh.

I've decided to go with Prestige 54" to go over new 48" Capital Culinarian. That will be paired with a 1600CFM remote (roof mounted) blower). That's a bit over powered but I'd rather go over than under since I do a lot of stir-fry and saute. Also plan to do some grilling on the new range.

cocomac20: In regards to the viking stuff... that hood was sent to me without the proper fitting filter inserts, and no railing to even place the inserts on. I tried and tried and tried to have the company fix the issue and send me new inserts. Eventually they did send some, but once again they weren't able to be installed due to there being no railing, and even if there was a railing they were the wrong size. At some point they just stopped responding to my requests. I had to have my lawyer draft a letterhead document threatening to sue them if they didn't fix the issue. Only after that they sent a tech out who measured the space and was able to install the proper items. The customer service is horrendous, especially considering how much I spent on their product. Also, the vent fan had an issue with a clicking sound on the vent top opening and hitting the side walls of the shaft (which I was told to place some weather stripping on to stop), but seriously why couldn't they have done that at the factory? Lastly, the time controller on it has just simply stopped operating, I didn't use it very often anyway since it was kind of confusing to begin with, but it's just one more item that makes me sour of their products. Not a solution for the OP-this is how I usually do them. Pictured is a 15" frameless. I aim for 15-18", 21 max.I rarely allow a 9" cabinet into a design but have done these at 12" For semi custom brands ordering is a hack, talk with your KD and get detailed drawing and order info. Should be something like- door shipped loose (or deleted and separate door ordered) one standard RO, one tall RO or drawer box (8" high). Method for field install of door depends on door style-options include : 6" tall narrow angle brackets on sides, "L" bracket on top of bottom box, ply attached to door, sometimes can just attach the door to the bottom box-depends. From mid range and up can just be ordered. I disable the soft close on the bottom RO often to cut down on stress when opening and no the bottles don't fall over. We used to do this a little differently so I don't have current photo just rendering but the cut away side helps clarify (have a few installing currently and will get pix once they are loaded).
