I had the orginal battery still in my car they said with this car it has to be put on the computer to conform to the engine???????????????????? I'm not quite sure what they mean by that, except that there are some settings on the car (like whether the alarm horn beeps, the radio can be used, and some others) which can be set by computer but which may default to factory-standard if the battery dies. But the important thing is that they finally fixed it for less than another fortune. Please keep that dealership/garage in mind for your future maintenance. You definitely want to keep track of competent technicians!

Sadly, the day of the economical to operate motor vehicle is over. The car or truck are slowly becoming luxuries rather than necessities - thanks to the environmentalists and safety nazis.. Other than a very expensive trip to the dealer(but some of this may be covered under warranty) the only other thing the car owner may or can do is assure that the battery is suppling the vital 12.0 volts(minimum) to the computer...

I'm also looking for vw beetles patterns - especially a white convertible. Does anyone have a book or source to recommend? Bonnie

Groovia, so sorry to hear you're not liking it. I know exactly how you feel! I don't think you should panic, but I also don't think you should keep going if you're instinct says "no." Finish the walls you have started and if you can, wait a day or two and just assess the situation. I've painted our main bathroom 5, yes, 5 times (it has no windows and pinky-beige tile...hard to work with!). Each time, I knew immediately after the very first wall that it wasn't right but I kept going anyway. If you wait a day or two, you'll be calmer and better able to decide if it's worth it to keep going--or if you're going to end up really hating it in the end.
