Thanks for your reply rustyj14. I have a sticker on the underside of 1 of the running boards that shows the belt diagram and I think it is on right, but will check that in the morning. Any more possible suggestions?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I checked the belts and the drive belt had come off of the pulley. I put it back in place and she runs like a dream. Thanks agan!!

If you have shoe brakes in the rear, check out the self adjusters therein. These may be jammed and need to be cleaned and lubricated. After freeing up and cleaning the adjusters, re-assemble the drums and ajust the shoe brakes. Then check the fluid resevoir on the master cylinder and top off if needed. After the first application of the brakes, the shoe brakes may not be returing fully and the next time you apply the brakes, all seems well. But, with road shocks, the shoes may drift all the way back to their stops and then it will take extra pedal movement to push them against the drums. Also, you may have a parking brake cable that is draging in its housing. It should be free to slide. If not, replace. While you are into the brakes, inspect the return springs. if these are in bad shape, replace.

I took it in to Honda today. The mechanic looked it over but said he would not be able to determine the problem unless he could see it happen. Of course, it was working beautifully today! He also said he had never heard of a CR-V having this problem, he dissapeared into the back to check the computer for a reported problem like this but said no one else had reported this problem. I'm suppose to bring it back when the problem happens. Of course, if I can't accelerate over 20 mph it will be a harrowing drive. I have to take at least one road with a speed limit of 45 mph, one of which has a lot of truck traffic, the other choice is the same speed, but only one lane in each direction with no passing. He did check (while I was watching) for any loose connections or worn or kinked cables and played with the gas. He spent about 10 minutes under the hood and then another 10 driving it with me in the car. I might try posting this on the Honda CR-V owners page, maybe someone will have had this issue crop up.
