Could recommend a nice wagon?

Hey Everyone!

I am looking for a nice wagon with all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.

While I am still driving my Cherokee (which I love) my husband is trading his explorer and going to drive my Cherokee. But it will be there if I want. ha ha

Do you want a nice wagon or an evil SUV?
Subaru makes a nice "wagon" as does Ford with the Freestyle. Also the Chrysler Pacifica is a good wagon.
But if you want another evil SUV I test drove the new Jeep Commander. Nice truck! I tested the base model with the 4.7 V8. A nice package for about 31 Grand sticker.

Have you checked out the Volvo Cross Country? Hubby and I each drive one and love them. Gas mileage is great compared to SUV's.

1 thing I should mention----Ensure you test drive the trim level you desire. Why: When we initially looked at the CRV---the sales guy showed us the bare bones model! And we were like--not for us! and we moved on 1 day out of boredom and being that I love Honda/Acuras--I went to another dealer and the sales guy showed me the EX-L (top of the line minus a few options) what a difference!! Called the wife, she came by, test drove it and was in love!! if you are in a big city with a lot of dealers--emailing the online salesguy may be ur best bet!! I emailed close to 20 Honda dealers in the DC area---told them exactly what I wanted and I planned to buy in less than 2 weeks time. And I wanted their BEST out the door price. Yes some just emailed back and said they would match the best price I would get. But I got some good offers. I phoned the top 5, to let them know I was real, and went from there!! I armed myself with what was a good price by finding Honda CRV forums---and one 1 forum,they had a section called "What did you pay for your crv" There were a few in the DC area,with the same trim level, so I had a good idea! Plus there is a site called truecar.com that supposedly gets their info from banks and insurance companies! So armed with the above info, I got a real good deal on my 2011 CRV EX-L--good enough that 1 salesman called me a liar when I told him the price I paid. It is the people that do NOT do any research on prices, that pay too much, and allow a store to sell cheaper to u! Best of luck on the vehicle you choose and take the time to do the research!!

Ha!!! I was wondering if anybody would notice! Believe it or not that fridge is now TWENTY ONE years old!! It's a refrigerator "only" SubZero which is really meant to have the matching full size freezer standing next to it, but of course we could only fit the fridge. The four crisper/meat drawer go all the way to the back of the refrigerator so they hold a ton and each are deep enough for a big head of lettuce, melon etc... Back in 88 I was struggling with fitting food for a us and three boys (with a fourth on the way) into the used Kenmore that we had bought when we first got married. It was a constant juggling act to fit in enough food to keep from shopping every couple of days. Then one day I saw this floor model SubZero that they were discounting at the appliance distributor store. I sold the Kenmore for $50.00, DH Joe rebuilt the cabinets above the space so it is built in, and we stained a panel to match the cabinets. I have a freezer in our laundry room which is next to the kitchen. I figured how often did I really need to get in the freezer?? I've never regretted it though it does often give folks pause when they first go to look for ice if they're new to the house! I've only had TWO repairs on the fridge in 21 years... one of which was just last fall and it was fixed in a day. With four sons, you can imagine the workout that it has undergone on the door handle alone!! The shelves look like new, the crisper drawers are still beautiful.... everything comes out easily to get washed down when needed... I can't say enough about the quality of Subzero. Grace

Hi Amy, Check out (Lowes)Allen & Roth Valspar "Elegant" You can google this, then look at "images" to see samples. It's the greige-iest greige I've ever seen or used. I used it in a medium sized bathroom with no natural light and it's warm but not dark. Twenty or so people have seen it, love it but no one can tell if it's more grey...or more beige. Oddly I have paired it with cream, mocha, tan and greys. It works with everything. I'm sorry I can't post a pic but I'm not at home to do that. Valspar makes a superior paint. Good luck!

I looked at the Pacifica today. Nice interior. I am going to drive it tomorrow.
Am I crazy? I am just sick of SUV's. While they are very nice I am just wanting a car right now. But I want a wagon. I love them,
What do you think about the car I mentioned above?

Check out the Nissan Murano too. I think the Murano is easier to see out of when backing up than the Pacifica. The Pacifica is nice, but we liked the Murano better.

It was a toss up for a Murano or a second Volvo Cross Country, but the Volvo was in a color we liked and we loved the one we already had. My SIL just got a Volvo V40 and loves it. It's smaller than our XCs but a very nice wagon.

I second the Audi A3 waggon with DSG (direct shift gear)transmission.Drive it as a regular auto or put it in sport mode and use the paddle shifters on the steering wheel to have some fun clicking through the six speed transmission . Better gas mileage than the other choices listed too !

The newly revamped VW Passat wagons are quite nice, especially with the V6 and AWD. Or the various Audis, especially the A6. What price range are you considering? The Toyota Matrix is a decent lower-priced wagon.

Well I bit the bullet and bought a black XC 70 Volvo wagon.
My hubby is NOT happy at all. He would rather have stayed with another SUV.
I cannot win!

I think you'll be happy with your XC and he will too once he sees your gas mileage compared to his. Hubby went with his XC because he trailers a boat and didn't want low gas mileage for the other 8 months out of the year. At the time he got his wagon I was driving a Volvo 850. We now have 2 XCs and love them.

I'm so glad I tripped over this subject. We ordered a Volvo Cross Country yesterday & will pick it up Tuesday. We're replacing our third Suburban. We will still have a full size pick up if we need to haul anything large. I sure hope we've made the right decision. I was so surprised when my hub said he didn't want another SUV. I had suggested we test drive a Honda Pilot and he said no, he wanted a car this time. The feature that made me say yes was the little "well" for grocery bags in the back. One of my pet peeves is my groceries sliding all over the vehicle as I drive home. Especially since all the stores provide plastic bags, rather than paper. I think we are so spoiled in the US - there are so many choices!
