Lou, I have a similar recipe that I use for deviled crab, and I have also substituted canned tuna for the crab with good results as well. It is also baked and then broiled. I'll have to try the salmon recipe, although I really like Marilyn's fresh salmon cakes, and I had no problem with hers falling apart. I'll have to look at her recipe again. I have a feeling now that it was the type of bread I used, as rococogurl suggested. And the recipe does call for fresh bread crumbs as opposed to dried ones. The end result was still very good, even though it was difficult to get them to stick together. I'm considering adding a bit of potato starch to the insides to see if that will make them "stickier". Carol, I had saved your recipe before (it was one of only two that I had saved), but I neglected to look at it before I started. I'll try yours next time, as it looks really more like what I wanted, which is why I saved it in the first place. As for the recipe from the Anapolis native (I saved that one also) - what is regular mustard? My first thought is that it is dried, but it might mean prepared mustard. Crab meat is so cheap right now that I will be making more variations. The first batch of cakes I did not refrigerate, but the second batch had been refrigerated over night, and it had the same problem. Scrap wood is certainly fine and it what I use in my garden. First make sure the box is located where it will get at least 6-8hrs of direct (no shade) sunlight, not daylight but direct sun. If you stand between it and the sun you will see your shadow. It looks like there may be some things nearby that will block the sun. < I should get a tomato cage for the tomato plant, right? Do the peppers need anything?> You can try the cages on the pepper plants, often the soil is too soft to support tomatoes in cages but can work for peppers which won't get as big or heavy. But for tomatoes I like Upright supports screwed to the side of the bed. This is so the tall plants don't block the sun. Spacing can be taken from the seed packet - use the seed spacing after thinning since you won't be thinning. Draw it out on paper to see if you will have room for what you have planned. Keep a Garden Notebook. Each spring review what went well last year and what needs improvement. Winter is a good time to plan the next garden layout, plants, etc. Start small and try to avoid overcrowding. If you want more plants next year make another box. Cherry tomato plants tend to grow very tall (vines) and will provide lots of tomatoes. I am so glad you are teaching your son to garden. or if I'm really committing some color mismatching ... No, the problem isn't tile color; it's shape and size. First, what's working: the floor, the shower and the vanity are all nice. What I'd change: - The tile backsplash above the vanity is bad ... the tiles are much too large. Fortunately, pulling them at this stage won't be too difficult. You need something much smaller here. How would the tile from the shower floor look here? If it matches, it would give continuity. - The mirror frames are also bad. The brown tone clashes badly with the darker wood stain of the vanity. The thing is, they don't match, but they're kinda close enough that you looked like you were trying to match them. - You don't have lighting in yet, but I'm concerned ... are you putting two sconces on the side of each mirror? They look low. Mirrors (Priority 2): I don’t think I can change the taupe trim ... Is it terrible or is it just not really to taste? Yes, they are really terrible. The frames are heavy (especially at the top), so they claim a lot of attention, and the brown-paint-over-wood-stained-vanity just doesn't work. I dislike the two small mirrors; I'd go with a large, more functional mirror over the whole vanity /framed with a more moderate wood-stained trim to match the vanity. But is there anything you think I can do to keep this mirror as is? No. This btw is what the sconces would look like.
