Possible Car Damage... need advice

I was driving through a field in my car, going around 10-20 mph, and I came upon a rather large dip without awareness of it. The force was so great, it popped knocked the CD player out of the dashboard and knocked the car into nuetral.

I believe that I knocked the suspension out of alignment, because it drives kind of wobbly now. Could that be all?

Also, when accelerating now, it kind of lags, i.e when I get to the top of the gear it like revs (not terribly, but only slight) and then shifts.... it's an automatic.

Any advice on what I should do is greatly appreciated...

My advice is stay away from fields with dips.

There are a lot of things you may have done here. You need to get this car into a shop and have someone put it up on a lift and check it over carefully, because it may at this point be unsafe to drive. Some possibilities would be broken or bent front suspension parts, bent wheels, and possibly cracked or damaged components such as the transmission or engine oil pan. (The fact that you knocked the transmission into neutral to me might indicate that the case of the transmission itself might have hit the ground, which could have bent or cracked it. You might now be losing fluid, which would explain the odd shifting behavior.)

Get this car to a shop right away, both for your own safety, and to prevent even more damage from being done to the car by driving it in this condition.

Many people do prune, and it probably works just fine. But, there are nutrients in those canes the plant can use to regenerate the foliage, and any green wood is using sunlight to create chlorophyll to feed the plant. If you just can't stand the sight of the bare stems, prune them. If you can avert your attention to somewhere else and leave them alone, do that. There isn't a whole lot of difference between dealing with the JB damage and that from saw fly or even light deer feeding. All three eliminate the foliage and leave the plant looking like it's dead. Keep it watered and fed to encourage new growth and flowers. I'd bet not pruning them should result in a faster rebound. Kim

Thanks- I'm going away for 10 days, my daughter and husband will be home and all they can do is water (so the plants won't be getting "too much love"). They were planted yesterday (our 90% last frost avg date and then we had a frost advisory, lol). forecasts for my trip are daily high of 70-74, low of 49-52 with some rain, which is decent... probably the best thing for the plants that I will be gone, since I tend to be hands-off but I've never also needed to do anything to them...outside of a little speck I've never had a problem. I guess when I get home they will either be pulling out of it or worse. Is there something other than 2-4,D that could be causing this? I suppose I could ask my husband to take one of the extras down to the extension office while I'm gone (poor hubby always gets sent on the weirdest gardening errands)...tomato autopsy? lol.... Sorry I didn't post a picture, my camera is full and I don't have a way to download the pictures off the card (grumble)...

Have you contacted your homeowner's insurance? If not that should be your next call. They will step in and make sure the driver's insurance pays, but liability limits are often not all that large on cars. Many people would be in real trouble if they hit a Bentley or other very expensive car (the owners usually have uninsured/under-insured coverage for just this case). If you are liable for more than the policy amount, then you may be on the hook for the balance. How it proceeds depends on how much money it is and how much the insurance company thinks they can try to squeeze out of you. A judgment against someone with no assets that can be attached is not worth all that much (think 'law suit proof').

I'm getting confirmation from the city on the ADU conversion in writing but new laws passed on Jan 1st of this year make it pretty clear I don't need to replace parking. The biggest land/hardscape I'm interested in doing is the entry walkway to the back. It may not look like it now but the walkway is almost 5 feet wide, from the tall wall to where the short wall steps up on the right. Stripping out the reeds on the one side and pulling the vines off the wall on the left. I like the wall of greenery but the clinging vine is terrible to maintain so commercial trellis mounted on alternating sides along the walkway with a non-clinging flowering vine attached would be nice I think. In-cement up-lighting placed opposite the vine to reflect light on to the vines at night? The maybe a glass door with intercom for security?

My X drove a little mustang across the field she parks in and said she hit a hole - and now the car has a heart beat & smells funny.
Somehow the radiator apparently hit the fan blade, gouged leaky radiator and water pump weep hole leaking, and the transmission cooler is in the radiator so it was accelerating odd too when I trouble-shoot-test drove it.
She drove it all day shopping too with this 'heart beat coming and going.

Most of these are rather large, but none are intended for fast driving over rough terrain.. Maybe people are too easily influenced by TV..
And Tim is right - stay away from dippy fields with cars that are too low to the ground(most of them)

Need to have it checked out. Transmission linkage, suspension, frame, alignment, fluid lines.
