Too bad a person can re-edit ones post to fix such things, or spelling and grammar errors one didn't notice before posting. Police called me last night and told me he gave the lady a $400 ticket. Someone will also have to pay the towing and an impound fee of $100 per day to get the car back. Seems the lady a record 4 pages long of driving offenses. She of coarse has no license or insurance, and the car isn't registered to her. Seems it belongs to an uncle. Sounds like she's some kind of druggie who has a habit of getting doped up then drives. None of that helps me of coarse. Just puts that lady in a deeper hole to dig out of some day if she ever chooses to try. Don't understand why we all have to put up with such people. She should have been in jail years ago imo. So, she got a ticket? She probably got dozens of them she never appeared for already, and I'm sure she'll be driving as soon as she can get her hands on another car.

Glad that it wasn't a bang on the driver's door, girl! Not long after I got this car, I thought that I went into an intersection on a green ... and a car that came through three lanes hit on the driver's side ... but back at the back tire area. I was ... substantially ... very substantially ... thankful! It seemed to be the general concensus that I'd run a red light ... but I figure that he ran a yellow, as when my car had been turned around about 180 degrees - there, staring at me through the windsheld, was a green light, in the same direction that I'd been travelling ... and if I'd run a red light, it should have been red! Anyway - I also like to pick spaces in parking lots where I can drive out (but must confess to being a bit too lazy/(mis-guided?) to back into empty spaces). I hear that a bit of a longer walk is good for one's constitution? By the way ... did you say that the grandkid is wanting a car? Hhm-mm-mm-m! Hope that the rest of your weekend goes better. I, too, value my wheels ... and one needs be extra careful around here, for if one in 70s or higher is in a fender-bender or two, one is liable to get a letter from the Ministry of Transportation to say that they are cancelling one's driving permit. We have a discussion session of about an hour and a half with about a dozen others, with a test of knowledge and signs, with some being selected for a driving test, every two years after age 80. ole joyful P.S. As I was fairly sure that there were still quite a few good miles in that little 20-year-old Mazda that I'd bought only a few months earlier, after the accident I chose to repair it, at a cost larger than I'd paid for it ... partly for environmental reasons, as it costs a great deal of scarce and precious fuel to dig iron ore from the ground, smelt it, then carry it through all of the manufacturing operations ... plus add quite a lot of petroleum-based plastic, to build a new one, but repair is mainly a lot of work. In addition to the amount that's added to global warming ... and pollution. o j

What wonderful comfort this must have been to the little boy. This remeinds me when my daughter first starting teaching. She taught in a very poor district. She dearly loved the children, some of the parents "NOT." One afternoon she was leaving school and heard tires squeal. She ran around the building and a little 10 year old girl was hit by a car. She ran to the girl while someone called 911. The mom lived just down the street and came runing. It wasn't long before the Dad came. Mom and dad just stood in the middle of the road yelling at each other. Our daughter felt so sorry for the little girl. Our daughter followed the ambulance to the hospital. They ended up making the parents leave the building until they decided to stop yelling. To this day the little girl always comes into our daughters classroom to see her. They have a special bond.. (((alisande))) Here, I'll make it the third one? Maybe. I was driving home the other day, and I had a blowout! Not just a flat tire. We heard BANG! and I said, what was that? He said maybe we ran over a rock? And then the car started to try to swerve. I did keep control and then I heard it--a flat tire. As I pulled over, it was smoking! Smelled like burned rubber to me, and it practically welded the tire to the axle?! What's worse? I just got the car in July (used, it's 18 years old) and I hadn't checked the spare to make sure it fit and was in good shape :O The equipment to change the tire didn't really fit or work well :( The jack would only turn a half turn at a time. The tire iron was too long? It kept hitting the ground. What was cool though? Someone else had fixed a flat in the exact same spot, and accidentally left a tire iron-that fit my bolts. I had another shorter tire iron, but it too, did not fit. So it took three tire irons, a lot of turning for the jack, and holding my breath for the tire to work. Yep, the tire turned out ok. I had planned to buy new tires next month, but now, I will have new tires this weekend. Two more days instead of two more weeks... hurray! Back to normal then. Whew. Now, we don't need a third car incident. How's that for closing the loop? Well, I tried!
