overheated engine

| bought a new thermostat, but have no idea how to install or where to find old one in my v8 engineon my 1990 chevy can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

| Thermostat on most cars I have had live near where the top hose from the radiator joins on to the cylinder head, and there is a panel you can unbolt to replace it. Some of the newer cars I have had (ie post 1970's) have had this obscured by the cam belt, I think this is to deter the more amateur home mechanic and get him spending at the main dealer instead. |

| I just commented on this topic annapaigesmom posted in the Garage forum on generally how to find and change. Also said if need to ask this question it might be helpful to find a friend who could replace the thermostat. Casey "Sean McDonagh Racing" |
