License Plate Photo Shield

Recently I saw an ad for a license plate cover that will shield the numbers from overhead cameras being used in many places. I can,t remember where I read about this cover, can anyone help me?

Just be careful. Many states will ticket you if the cop following you notices these covers. Your plate must be clear and readable.
Besides, if you're a good driver why do you need this cover in the first place? Unless of course, you're NOT a good driver, in which case please stay away from me.

I will say the same!!! "How Cool is that!" I was looking for an idea for my family photo wall, Since we are a Car Guy family, I am gonna use license plates now to spell "FAMILY" in a frame that matches the others..Thanks Linda soooo much for the post!!!! Linlee, I'm going to guess the difference is that band saw's have one cutting edge on the blade and while you can probably use it like a scroll saw, you could bind it up by turning your piece to quickly. It looks more powerful and faster than my ring saw (more dollars too) On a ring saw, the blade is a diamond coated wire that cuts with all sides so you can't bind it up easily, You can turn your piece in any direction and continue your cut. I think it likely gives a more intricate cutting abilty, albeit slower. Jane and TMG have both so maybe they can correct me.

My DH has been in a couple of minor fender benders in the last couple of months, neither were his fault. In Oregon you have to complete an accident from for the DMV and it want's license no, expiration, vehichle VIN, license #, insurance policy # and insurer-for BOTH drivers. The 1st someone backed into my truck while DH was driving, causing about $1500 damage-didn't look like that much, but when the estimate came back it was hefty. DH was uninjured. The second, the other driver started to go thru a red light, stopped and backed up-right into DH's truck front end. Damages are minimal, but he got a hard shock and his back is hurting. Unfortunately, the other insurance co in both instances is the same. Our insurance is a dream to work with, but this other company is horrible! Their adjuster told DH his back could not possibly be hurting after such a 'tiny' bump. They are treating us horribly-and they didn't pay our estimate on the first one-they paid THEIR adjusters estimate, which was less than 1/3! They said we could send them the bill for the difference and IF they thought it was fair, they'd pay it. We didn't hire an attorney for such a small bill, but this time, with them telling DH he doesn't need to see a doctor (and our Insurance pays for that no questions asked), we might end up hiring one. Insurance issues are horrible to deal wtih.

Have to renue my drivers license today

My husband's licence renewal arrived today. The cost will be $90.00 Cdn. It will be good for 5 years. He does not need a new photo - they will move his last one over to the new card. Mine had to be renewed a couple of months ago - as did the licence plate since the car is in my name- that was expensive too. I wish now I had renewed the plate for 2 years rather than 1 year since shortly after I paid the fee it was announced that plate registration is going up so I would have been ahead of the game. I just didn't want to give our Ontario premier more of our money to throw away.

Get the plate wet and throw mud on it. Change the pattern occasionally. Works like a charm.

Old friend paints his car with aerosol cans of gray primer, touches it up whenever, washes bad stuff off with comet and no-scratch scotch brite pot cleaner things. Other than no shine, it always looks good.

Just a comment on the safe driver comment. My DH got a photo radar ticket for being too safe. We were driving down one of the main streets of our town one night about 11pm during an ice storm. He was driving 18mph. The light turned yellow as we approached it on a 6 lane road. His choice was to try to stop and possibly slide everywhere or to keep going. He kept going but because his speed was so slow he did not make it across all 6 lanes before the light changed to red and the camera took our picture. Had he been going the speed limit on the road (45mph) he could have made it through the yellow light in time, but because he was driving a safe speed for the conditions he was ticketed. Also, our local police department has since increased the length of time that particular light remains yellow because there was only enough time for people driving 40mph or faster to get through the intersection once the light turned yellow and it was causing too many accidents from people slamming on their brakes. Since increasing the length of time on the yellow light accidents have decreased at that intersection dramatically. So anyway, my husband's safe driving on icy roads caused him to get a photo radar ticket. He could have gone to court and fought it, but the ticket was only $80 and he would have had to take a day off from work to fight it which wasn't worth it.

Two choses actually.....one, remove the plate and store in your garage, or two....obey the traffic laws! Geez.
