What happens if you overfill the automatic transmission.
Yesterday I checked the fluid and it needed some.
I poured half a quart in and it looked like it still
needed some. So I poured the rest of the quart in but
when I tried to check it I couldn't get a good reading.
I think after filling there was still a lot of fluid
inside the dipstick tube and when I pulled the stick out
it was covered with fluid. I meant to check it again when
I got home yesterday but forgot. I figured by then any
fluid in the tube would have had time to drain down.
If by chance I overfilled it what damage could it do.
Apparently I have a very slow leak since I had to add fluid
a few months ago. If I overfilled it how can I remove some.
Crawling under it to remove the pan is not an option for me.
Thanks.
