I agree with elly that covering the mirror is the thing to do(a washcloth you can grab off when you go out?) As for the windshield, if putting the wipers up doesn't work, how about putting one of those accordion-style cardboard dashboard protectors (that keep it cool in hot weather) in your car, the kind with big eyes maybe? It might confuse him and/or scare him, and block his view of himself so he isn't rewarded for standing there. Just an idea; good luck!

...I had stopped to get a can of a carnuba cleaner wax spray on for my car...they were doing a demo on it and of course my mom said oh i dont believe that stuff works... well one guy sprays it on the head lights... cleans really good... to get the bug guts off... well before i could say anything the other guy sprays it on my window.... while saying it does those too.... what in the world can anyone suggest to get that stuff off with??? winshield is not a big smeared mess i have tried everything and havent found anything to cut thru that crap...any suggestions... already folloed most of the postings on here...nothing.... water just beads up

Mamachile, I like the term 'intended' parking spot, rather than 'my' parking spot. Probably part of the concern of the note writer is that I'm obviously not a spring chicken anymore even though, thanks to daily activity in the yard, I still get around very well. But when I'm tired it's really nice when someone hands me their shopping cart saving me me walking 50 ft to get one, or helps me with loading heavy stuff into my car even though I sometimes have to ask. It seems many younger people are not aware that young women with kids or old women with arthritis might really appreciate a little help. Oh well, be that as it may the neat thing is when we are kind to one another it makes us feel good! .... :-)

To recap, I need to get a new mid-pipe (also called intermediate pipe), resonator, and muffler for my MK2 Jetta. Another way of describing what I need is a "cat-back" exhaust system. It's amazing what you learn on this forum. I'm trying to get a new exhaust system in my car before I take it for inspection at the end of the month. Anyway, just thought it would not hurt to share with you how my search is going so far: 1) A kind soul on this forum found this link for me: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=907159 I called them today and they said they would search their inventory, and if I did not hear back from them by 5:00pm today it meant that they did not have anything for me. I did not hear back from them. 2) Parts Place (http://www.partsplaceinc.com/). I called them today. What I like about these folks is that shipping is free with orders over $50.00 (I think. I need to check back with them. My memory is failing me. But I seem to remember them saying that anything over $50.00 gets free shipping). However, they only have a muffler and not the rest of the exhaust system.
