my neighbors & I are dealing with this now only it's a little sparrow....it's the same sparrow who has been walking around more than flying all winter. It flies to the scrub trees on our property line & sits & then comes down to my neighbors car. When she leaves it goes to mine, mine leaves it goes to my other neighbor. We all live in close proximity. All other times it stays at my neighbors chimney....Long , silver & very reflective. It also pecks at our house windows & all windows of the cars. The poop is ridiculous. Two of us have bags on our mirrors but it doesn't much help as it goes to the other windows. It's a pain in the butt having to either wash the car or remove & retie the bags all the time. I tried putting a mirror on the end of the deck, where the bird can surely see it but it hasn't worked yet. We are going crazy! P.S. I tried the mirror in our tree where the bird feeders are but removed it as a woodpecker darn near drove itself crazy by flitting at it for a solid afternoon. Unfortunatley, wiper blade design is not standardized. There seems to a different fastening method for each manufacturer of blades. I'm not familar with the Honda original blades, so I'll give some general clues that I've found on my cars. If you have the usual 2-blade for the windshield, go to the passenger side and examine that wiper arm and blade. (That blade, when in the parked position, is nearer the edge of the car and easier to see.) Look at where the wiper blade assembly attaches to the wiper arm. (If you have a sport UTE, go look at the rear wiper arm. Its probably of the same design and is much easier to examine.) Does the end of the wiper arm end in a "U" shape commonly called the "J" type. If so, look for a small release button or protrusion. Push this down and push the wiper blade toward the shaft end of the wiper arm. The wiper blade assembly should slide from the end of the J shape. Then its's a matter of raising the wiper arm away from the windshield and fiddling with the blade until you find how it comes off. You may end up rotating the blade nearly upsidedown to get room to slide the j-hook out of the slot. Another type of wiper arm ends with a straight end with a hole in its end. The blade assembly stays on the arm by a pin or protrusion in this hole. This type releases by pushing down on a spring clip to push the protrusion out of the hole and then slide the assembly off the arm. A varation on this type has a small lever on the side of the blade assembly. Press this down to release. Another style has a small opening in the side of the blades assembly for insertion of a small tool like a screwdriver blade. The object of all of these is to push the spring loaded pin or protrusion out of the hole so the blade assembly can slide off. If the blade package is clear plastic, look to see if there is a folded instruction sheet inside. If you are sure that you have the correct replacement blade, open the package and retrieve the instruction sheet. It may illustrate your type of assembly. Wiper blades are available in two levels: one is the bare wiper blade itself, and the second is the complete assembly of the wiper blade plus its holder. Its best to purchase the entire assembly because of the many variations in design and the difficulty of putting a plain blade into the holder. Some designs require bending metal while others are not expected to be refilled.

...I had stopped to get a can of a carnuba cleaner wax spray on for my car...they were doing a demo on it and of course my mom said oh i dont believe that stuff works... well one guy sprays it on the head lights... cleans really good... to get the bug guts off... well before i could say anything the other guy sprays it on my window.... while saying it does those too.... what in the world can anyone suggest to get that stuff off with??? winshield is not a big smeared mess i have tried everything and havent found anything to cut thru that crap...any suggestions... already folloed most of the postings on here...nothing.... water just beads up

Many of the things have been covered so I'll try to avoid duplicates. But another caution: $20 will buy jumper cables good for Texas or Arizona, but not for Minnesota or North Dakota. You'll spend 2-3 times that for a decent set worthy of carrying around here. Check the gauge of the wire and the clamps. Buy from a reputable place, not a discount department store, if you want a good set. Another caution is a cell phone is a good idea but will do you no good without power. Always buy a car adapter and keep it in the vehicle. "Emergency" cell phones, won't be maintained so they won't be charged. Without a charger you stand no chance of using it. Also, be sure to check coverage. Why get one that won't have coverage when you need it? Also, if you need to repair a hose, don't go for the duct tape right away. Electrical tape will seal the hole better. Duct tape won't. Wrap it well with electrical tape and *then* give a wrap of the silver miracle. The grey gold will keep the electrical tape in place better and seal itself better. I always used a coffee can and put a roll of toilet paper in a plastic bag, double bagged, actually. Also had some matches and some large heavy duty garbage bags. A garbage bag will be a one-size-fits-most for a rain poncho, and have numerous other uses. People who use eyeglasses should keep an extra pair in the vehicle, especially if your license requires you to wear them while driving. I always keep water in the vehicle. Sure it freezes in the winter but the small bottles thaw quickly. I also keep aspirin, antacids and the like so I don't have to buy them at outrageous prices if needed. I just take a small bottle and keep a few in there. A roll of paper towels cut in half fits nicely in a coffee can and gives you an alternative to the toilet paper and gives you some ready napkins and something to use to clean up those accidents. Put the garbage bags in there and I like a few wet wipes. Tow chain or a tow strap. Takes little room. Oh, I use the crank flashlights. No need to worry about batteries. I usually like to carry a gallon of window wash fluid (de-icer in the winter) and a gallon of antifreeze. If you break a hose you can get the radiator filled. Dump in the antifreeze and it can get you going to a place to add some water. Or if your near a water source, even a lake, stream or ditch, you have a container for the water. Clothes appropriate for the climate. And a comealong winch is a good idea too. Can extend the reach of the tow strap and you can winch yourself out of a bad spot. And I believe in keeping some cash, including change, in the vehicle. Pay phones used to be a big reason but that's more obsolete now but if you have to buy some gas, or bandages or something, you might find a few dollars handy. Nobody's saying you should carry everything everyone has suggested. Very few people would find a gas wrench useful - most wouldn't know how to use it. So you use it for ideas. Modify it. There is no all-inclusive list that will work for everyone. Some things you would take on a trip but not leave in there all the time. Some things should be in there. Minnesota requires you to carry proof of insurance. I keep one card in my wallet and one in the vehicle. Belt and suspenders I suppose. I still haven't gotten around to stocking my "new" vehicle yet. But probably have most of it in there. When the weather gets nicer I'll clean it out and check inventory against my checklist.
