| I can't imagine what the best way to let my dad know we are sending him to hospice care, especially since he is practically deaf. Anyone have any ideas? |
Follow-Up Postings:
| How deaf is "practically deaf"? Beyond hope even at increased volume and extra-clarity from speaker? My mom is blotto without her hearing aids. With them, she understands very well. Can he see/read? What is mental state? Is his brain still working? Is he capable of understanding? If he understands, will he remember later or lose it anyway? |
| Ask the hospice people for ideas. Or your hospital social service people, the Dr or other medical staff he sees. |
