I'm needing an attorney and my basic questions
are
1. How do you choose an attorney when your friends,
that occur to you today, don't know an attorney. But
then next year you realize there were probably people who you had forgotten about whom you could have
called for referrals. Using a friend's referral is supposed
to be a good way to choose an attorney. If I had no
friends with references what's the next best methods?
2. I've been cheated many times even when referred by
friends. Typically it's over charging. Other times it's
simply neglegance and not doing something which causes
a material loss. I've always figured it was because I
picked the wrong attorney in the first place. If I'm right
then 1. should help. But if even 1. does not help then where to go for advice when you feel cheated?
3. Similar to 2. I feel intimidated by what my attorney
is doing. I don't watch TV but when I did once I saw
that attorneys are buddies of each other with the customer
in the middle. I'm 55 and when I was 10 attorneys were
known for their honesty and good education. That has
changed drasticaly. I still believe that why ever the
good ones were around 50 years ago there must still
be some out there for the same reasons they were good
50 years ago. Why were they and how do I find them?
4. I have questions that a private investigator, probably,
needs to help answer. My attorney is dragging his
feet because he's not sure why I want answers. I wonder
why he's not asking the same questions. How to manage
when your style and your attorney's style differ ?
