Need help determining cause of strange odor
Comments (4)It might be bad paint. Ask the landlords which rooms they repainted before you moved in. This happened to a friend of mine. The paint used in one room had gone bad, and it smelled like something was dead. After a LOT of effort, including refinishing the floor in that room, crawling around in the attic looking for a dead rodent, etc etc, another friend figured out that it was the paint. She repainted the entire room with a Zinsser product, probably the one that is a primer/sealer, then added a regular top coat. Problem solved....See Morecan't get rid of body odor in clothes
Comments (28)Haven't read all the responses, so this may have been mentioned: I have washed some really rank (phew!) workout clothes that were left in a locker room for weeks. I tried various things, and this is what worked best, taking the stench completely out: I poured detergent (either Wisk or Tide Sport Febreze HE) directly onto the areas that smelled worst - usually, the underarms. I washed the clothes inside out. I used the hottest water the fabric could stand. (Sometimes it's worth a shot to use hot water even when you're not 'supposed' to, if you'll have to throw the clothes out otherwise.) I poured in 1/4 c. baking soda. After the wash cycle was underway, I paused the washer to let the laundry soak. Sometimes an hour or two is enough. At times I've soaked it all night and finished the cycle the next morning....See MorePaint Smells like Body Odor--no joke!
Comments (5)Since some of the paint you used came from Home Depot - ummmm let me guess there will be some say it was the Home Depot paint. ;) Never noticed paints ever having that type of smell, but then again after breathing fumes all the time some of us just get used to the smells blending together. After all this time , I kinda like the smells. :D If you leave the door closed, try opening and airing the room out. You might also try using some aromatic candles or using a potpourri pot with some vanilla, cinnamon sticks and orange scents mixed in. Opening a window might help some or a fan pulling some of the smell out....See MoreBody odor or so I thought..
Comments (14)Mamapinky, yes sweet dreams is the name. I found it at Target. I also had the greasy odor although a bit milder when I hung a load on the line to dry. Opened my closet and it reeked, had to rewash the whole load. Larsi, I like the Fresh Spring Flowers and White lavender and Sandalwood. Blue sparkle, had to pour the bottle down the drain Anyway, it is comforting to know I'm not the only one with this problem. Misery loves company.:)...See Moresunnyca_gw
