Listening to all these comments I just want to scream. We have a Whirlpool Cabrio top loader which is fairly new. I noticed the water levels stay pretty low and the spin cycle did not always work at first since we moved in here and just got in this unit.. Sometimes I would put it on a second rinse to get the water out. The washer has corrected itself now and releases all the water however, it appears that everything I wash is pilling no matter what fabric whether it be towels shirts pants socks underwear or separately or together everything is pilling. Zippers and buttons are not any obstacles they have never caused a problem before and they aren't now. Nothing is snagging it. At this rate I will be losing all of my clothing if it keeps on. Most of these clothes I have had for a few years and they always wash up nice they never pill some of these clothes are brand new and pill after just a few Washings.. So my opinion is that these washing machines that supposed to be so modernized are ruining our clothes with the different Cycles in the process that the machine uses to wash the clothes I absolutely hate it. And we the customer, are suffering by buying an item that is useless and ruining our clothes.. in my opinion the general public should not have to go through this crazy task of trying to figure out what is causing this issue I feel it is a manufacturer problem something to do with the way these machines operate and we are stuck with it I'm ready to go buy an old fashioned washer that I know it's going to clean my clothes and not put me through such stress. Any repairman out there or anybody that has figured this out please help!!!! This machine worked in the beginning. I don't think it has to do with detergents, softeners, load limits, water level..... I truly believe it's poor quality workmanship in these machines that triggers this.

Hmmm, sounds like aspirin but could be anything really. I wonder if the kids put them in there somehow to play a trick on mom - odds are likely quite small that 3 pieces in one box would have wayward pills, but who knows. Remember the froggy in the salad bag? I saw a Rice Krispie square in a store once with a slug sticking out one end - lots of stuff like this happens, so it's not impossible, but still seems pretty unlikely. Suzan J

I have pills I take through out the day. I take about 4 when I get up. I have a small canvas zip up bag I keep in my bedside table drawer. I take those as I get out of bed. I have several I take with my lunch and another batch I take with my dinner. Those are in one of those daily marked pill cases with am and pm compartments. If I am eating out I leave the pill container in my chair so I see it and remember to take my pills. At bedtime I have a few more pills, they are in the same canvas zip bag in my bedside table. I also have to take a shot in my stomach every night so my kit is in my bedside table. Pretty much all the room in the drawer is dedicated to my medication. My Inhaler is in there as well and my needle collection container. Doing it that way I rarely forget to take my pills. The only time I sometimes get to them late are the times I eat out. I would include a little note in my lunch bag or container that I had to see when removing the food.

Hope it is OK if I jump in here - I don't think I have ever posted on the KT, but do read some and you all seem like a nice gang. Occasionally spend some time on the Decorating forum.. A couple of things - the more poly, the more it will pile. The inside fleece nap sheds and attaches to the poly. Also, a lot of the cheaper shirts, i.e. "souvenier" shirts, cheap store brand shirts that the teens like so well, usually contain much more poly, sometimes as much as 80-90%. My favorite blend is 80% cotton, 20% poly to give it a slight sheen or a good quality 100% cotton. I have a beautiful pink Virginia Beach shirt that is 80cotton/20poly that is at least 10 years old and has no piling. My daughter has purchased sweatshirts from her favorite beach her last two vacations and they laundered terribly (but they were sure cute :). The fleece inside shed really bad and stuck to the outside of the shirt. When she showed them to me, I checked the tag and they were mostly poly. I helped her clean them up with a razor. I would recommend fluffing them in the dryer for several minutes BEFORE you wear them or at least before laundering to remove some of the loose, fleece fibers. The dry fibers will not adhere to the fabric as easy. Also, when laundering, turn wrong side out, dry them for just a few minutes wrong side out ALONE, remove from the dryer and shake the loose fibers off. Also, clean the dryer vent at this time. If you need to completely dry, repeat this process. Once you have removed the loose fleece fibers, the shirt should launder without so much piling. I also never wash fleece with my dressier clothes which usually contain a lot of poly.
