Elderly care calls.

My elderly mother(89) loves to garden and lives alone 400 miles from me. The gardening is what keeps her at her home by herself. Does anyone use Realpersonreminder.com for daily care calls and prescription reminders. They look like what I need. thanks

kandw101, can't help you with the question, just wanted to say that my mom lives alone and is annoyed because she can no longer rake her leaves. She gets short of breath and then gets scared, she is 96. We should all be so lucky to be as contented as they are being with at home and in the garden.

Many areas have there own check-up systems. One of ours is connected to a local hospital.

Check around. It may be that there is already a local agency doing exactly what you want.

You might also consider getting her a Guardian 911 Alert monitor. It connects directly to an extra phone line and has a pendent that can be wore around her neck. It allows a person to have direct contact to 911 in casae of an emergency by just pressing a button. Go to, www.HomeDeliiveryMedical.com they have one listed at the bottom of their 'Home' page. They specialize in home care medical suppliies and equipment.

Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.homedeliverymedical.com/

My parents have the monitor pendant too, but there's is from their home security company, ADT. The operator listens to what's going on and calls for emergency services. It's worked perfectly each time Dad has fallen.

michaell_2008, do you work for home delivery medical? Just wondering because I notice you posted that same link in answer to several threads here.

Michaell, I noticed too that you just joined today. It does look as if you are trying to get sales for the company.

Hey guys,
I don't work for them. They have been really helpful in helping me with my mom in getting her the things she needs. My mom who is 71 has been in and out of rehab, first she has a knee replacement spring of 2007 and then in February she had a hip prosthesis - replacement. She has been in and out of rehab, physical therapy, etc., Also with all of this going on she is having bladder problems. Mom is very stuborn and this make for stress and more fustration is dealing with her health problems. She often gets my sister and I against each other. She is doing much betterr getting around using a rollator but still needs help. My dad is gone so my sister and I take care of her together. Our children are aslo a big help.

I have been lurking here for about 3 months. Use to be a member for the garden forums years ago when I had time to grow hostas. sorry if I offended anyone with the postings.

Appology accepted! Just seemed like you were trying to increase sales for this company as you posted that link several times in different threads. Then posted a few threads with just the info of the company. I guess you can see why we thought you might be working for them.

It did seem as if you were pushing products. Most areas have good medical supply stores. Even the larger pharmacies are carrying various lines of supplies now. Very helpful.

I have been looking after my now 94 year old mother for 8 years. I am 64 and my income is very low. I live quite a bit of time in Costa Rica working on a project there. Has anybody made use of the video networking technology to make care calls (my thought was to have a caregive accept the call or the video conference on behalf of my mother just so she can see me and I can see her on the screen..also I want to help her do range of motion exercises or read her an article for example..just be together online..
