Any ideas?

Hi everyone! Things seem to be very slow here, and i'm hoping that is for the good of everyone, and we're all busy doing outside things or resting! anyways, this happened 2 nights ago but i couldn't get Al to go to the hospital, even though i though he should have went. he was propped up on pillows in bed and said can you put me up i can't move, also i can't move my right arm at all, plus he looked ill, we all sat with him and watched the news then about an hour later he said i'm really tired now and i'd like to nap (this is the yukky thing he said to me), can you check on me to see if i'm still around in an hour or so! do you think it was a mini stroke, or maybe he was laying down wrong and it affected his muscles, his great doctor (has attittude too!) is on holidays for 3 weeks! and apparently the wait at emerg is pretty bad, just to sit there after this has happened. debbie

Dear Debbie:
I'm sorry I don't have answers re: if it was a mini stroke. I'm just wondering if his doctor has someone taking call for him? I know things are different in Canada and you've mentioned how few docs there are where you live...I can only go by my experience and when our doctors are away, someone is "on-call" for them. At least it would be better than sitting in the ER for hours on end. Debbie, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family... Mimi

Hi Mimi, thanks for thinking about us, but just having a doctor here is what we call remarkable! No this doctor didn't have anyone take his place, the most sad thing is, not for us is that he specializes in cancer, can you believe that! he just up and took holidays, i just feel bad for other people and families. my doctor (al and i have different ones) is off with cancer, and he didn't have anyone take his place either, however, we can see the doctor on call at this clinic and only if you have a doctor there otherwise you're out of luck! i'm lucky i only get migranes but i do feel so sorry for others that are really ill. well i've sounded out enough! and i think everyones tired of hearing me ramble on! debbie

Rob, if you have less than 30 1/4" between the two walls, it won't work for hairdrying. The user will be banging elbows into both walls. And yes, buyers will notice how narrow it is.. i know no women who sit down at a vanity to put on make-up. I certainly don't. It's a lovely, romantic thought, but not based on reality. The days of long, elaborate cosmetic rituals are long gone. As others have said, making this a make-up vanity will not update the condo, it will date it. My choice would be to make it storage or a spot for a pretty piece of furniture, as others have suggested. If you decide a sink is absolutely necessary, please improve the lighting. And change the flooring to something waterproof and cleanable! The thought of toothpaste on the carpet makes me shudder.

Are you perhaps thinking of my post from 2011? https://www.houzz.com/discussions/1874407/tired-of-flimsy-peony-rings The pictures don't show when I looked at it just now but I still have some of the pictures from 2011: (The woman is a friend who was helping me make them....) The rings have deteriorated a bit over the years but are still in place/in use. I now mainly grow singe-flowered peonies which do not need support like the double/semi-doubles do. I have never bothered providing support to Siberian Irises - the flowerstalks stand up on their own and the grassy leaves only get messy on the ground after the flowers fade. I leave the leaves in place and only cut them off in spring as new growth starts. The big advantage of making your own supports is you can make them the height and shape that is best for you with the material that is appropriate for you in terms of cost and sturdiness.

Not sure but my daughter just had the neckline and armholes of her wedding dress altered at a Bridal boutique (can you say gouging/inflated?) and it was only 150.00Cdn so I would imagine that you should be able to get your alterations done for 50.00. I agree with looking for an independent alterationist, although I would definitely get references. My sister took her wedding dress to an independent seamstress to have a christening gown made for her daughter and she got the intact wedding dress back with the christening gown made from some cheap material. The seamstress explained that she "didn't want to cut up your pretty wedding dress!" Admittedly, it may have been a language barrier.

Debbie...how's Al doing now? I know it's been a few days, but I just came upon your post....maybe you've already answered somewhere else, but I'm concerned....I'm so anxious to meet you in August! We should be arriving in ThunderBay on the 8th from our little trippy thru Michigan.
