Day and Night Mixed Up

My husband has his days and nights confused. He has MS (Multiple Sclerosis), Progressive type, and is now so bad he is confined to bed. He also has Alz-like symptoms and seizures. He routinely sleeps all day. He'll awaken between 3 and 4 in the afternoon, ask me to make him some food, then turns on the bedroom TV and watches till he goes to sleep, which is usually between 3 an d 4 am. Next day, same thing, sleep 12 hours, wake up in the afternoon. I asked his doctor, who said wake him 30 minutes early (like 2:30 pm) for a week, then 2 pm for a week, etc. In other words, shift him back 30 minutes at a time. This is difficult for me. I'm an early riser, like 6 or 7 am, after 30 plus years of having to wake up for my job, now retired. Has anyone else dealt with this? Any suggestions? h
