| How are you doing and more importantly how is mom doing? Does she need the surgery or is the bed rest going to work? Gosh I feel for you, very tough choices. Please check in and let us know how you are holding up!

| Linda, thanks for asking. It turns out that the fracture is not the kind that requires surgery -- in fact, surgery would not help. So they are going to do bed rest. Because they can't leave her in bed 24 hours a day, MIL will be getting physical therapy so she can move from bed to a chair. DH saw her today and said she seemed in relatively good spirits. So the crisis isn't as bad as we thought it was. I appreciate all of the comments people provided the other day -- they were helpful. |

| That sounds as if things are looking better for all of you. Maybe this is what she needs to remind her to use a walker to get from chair to bed, etc. Here's hoping for the best! |

| Oh I am so happy to hear this! Not that she is hurting but the fact she does not need surgery! Hopefully the PT will help her to be a little more mobile, even after the hip is healed. Linda J |
