Breezy...how are you????

Hey Lady,

Hope all is well with you. There is always things to keep us busy...right. Just wanted to check in...how do you like that new car??? DH is still just looking...I sure would like a van...but...he knows what we can afford...being an accountant and me no longer bringing in a few dollars...we may have to wait.LOL I love being at home...have started a few things around here...but love being able to just not have to dress and get out...I have always been a home body. Dad has all kinds of seeds started...we put up the grow light in the basement and he has tomatoes coming up and all kinds of other seeds...I bought him a amarillis(sp) for Christmas and it had 3 bulbs to plant...one of the stems has 8 blooms on it....beautiful red color...it is really cool here but the sun is out...want be long before we can finally get out and get things done. Hi Nora... I'm doing fine, thank God. Just returned from an extended weekend trip with my sister visiting with her family. We had a lovely time... I hope I wasn't too hasty in buying the car. It wasn't apparent until I drove it for about 4 1/2 hours one day that there's something in the seat bottom that is hurting me... I could hardly walk the next day! :) I found someone who rebuilds auto seats, and he's agreed to look at it. I enjoy being at home, too, Nora. I love dressing casually. In fact there are mornings I'm in my PJs for a long time! :) I love to hear about your precious parents. What a blessing the garden is for your dad! I can just see him fussing with his seeds and plants. The amarillis sounds magnificent... I'm thankful your dear mother is managing swallowing OK. The love and care she receives is such a blessing for her. And I know her smiles and sweet spirit bless each of you... It sounds like your daughter is having a wonderful experience. She'll have much to share... I'm so happy for you and your daughter who's moving to Kentucky. You'll get to be together more often and enjoy your grandbabies! God is so good... Good to hear from you. Glad that you had a nice trip. How is your weather....are you planning a garden?? We have 3 pussy willow bushes in the yard and I have been busy cutting them. Have a huge bucket of stems that I have cut and I am going to put them in a crock in my living room. This morning on Rebecca's Garden how to cut the end buds and bunch together and then add to a wreath...for spring. I am enjoying the time I have now to do these kinds of things. My youngest daughter is off teaching this next week for spring break and she will be going with us to Ky. then staying the rest of the week with us....she and I have projects lined up to do!!! I feel so blessed to have this time of not working...being with Mom and Dad, being able to be with my girls,grandbabies...and not having to worry about what is going on with the job. My sister is coming up to stay with Mom and Dad...her daughter will help lift Mom into bed...her back is doing better...no surgery as of now. Had to laugh after talking with her about leaving....she ask me to have Mom's food all pureed and ready to feed her....just never stops amazing me that she just doesn't get it or that she just doesn't want to. Pureed food is not hard to figure out...I have all the tools needed to get the job done. Oh well...just thankful that she will be here. Yes God is so good....God Bless you!!! Nora

good to hear from you both! ((nora and DF)) no its not easy, and the firsts are really hard, does get easier as time goes on! Hope you have a good time with your family and travel safely!!! (((Breezy)) thanks for asking about us, it always seems like one or another is sick around here. the oldest DGD had walking pneumonia, DGS had souble ear infection, finished antibotic for that and now he has pneumonia in both lungs, still coughing but not running a fever now, so doing better. DH is still holding his own, although his lower back and hi/leg where he has the rod is giving him a lot of pain lately, so don't know if the cancer is rearing its ugly head more or not. He will have to mention it to the cancer dr when he's there on the 5th. he hates the thoughts of going back on any meds for the cancer, but we take it one day at a time!! our DD is in LPN classes, she's doing good in it, but having medical problems, still having gall bladder attacks, and now heart problems, they don't know if the GB is causing the heart to act up, or if its her heart itself. she had to wear a heart monitor for 24 hours, results were that she's having PVCs its not life threathening but can't live like that, the cardialigist said she is having to many at a time and she's feeling them with all the symptoms and thats not good. she goes the 5th of Dec for a stress test, if it comes back bad, she'll probably have to go to Erie for more testing. goes back to dr the 8th for those test results and has to have an echocardigram the 21st. so its always something around here. but i had my mammogram and physical and they come back OK, so thats good news, 3 1/2 yrs cancerfree! getting snow here and calling for more tomorrow. DSIL just got in off the roads, he's a truckdriver. hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for.DianePA

A2--How do we get me out of the ABB? I guess I need to suck it up and start making road trips to tile stores again. I know I need help from everyone here also, but have been too afraid to post my own tile thread. My knees are knockin'! :) The grease bullseye is just a year of cooking. Because my hood is only 600cfms and 24" deep, I try to do all my searing, woking, and other high heat cooking on that back center burner for best HOGS capture. Hey, I cook. It's a kitchen. BUT it does tell me I need a tile behind the rangetop that can handle that kind of abuse. And I'm not exactly ABB, I still need a pantry door handle, ceiling fixtures, DR chandy, and banquette. I'm starting to feel ashamed that the kitchen has looked almost exactly like this for a year without me finishing much. Will you be cutting on your Boos cart top? I'm guessing not if you're considering something other than just oil. I love the look and feel of my Osmo. It looks great for months before it needs another coat, although that's even less now that it's been coated a handful of times. I don't think I'd mind the regular maintenance of oil, especially in such a small area, but I'm not sure I could choose oil over Osmo now that I've lived with it for a year. For what will you use the cart? Nancy--After my woodworker sanded the counter in November, he applied one coat of Osmo Polyx Oil and asked that I apply one more in 24 hours. I have a tiny little can of the Osmo and it's last me through at least 5 coats. I don't use much at one time. For some reason, I didn't know you had an Osmo counter. Nice to have company! Firsthouse--I don't really think I'm that conscientious about my counter. Unless you have wild hooligans that routinely run through the kitchen beating their chains and numchucks on the counter, I think your counter would look the same as mine after a year. I don't think I do anything special with it. Alexx--Thanks! I love my pulls, too! Is that wrong to say? :) I have had zero problems with anything getting in the screws or with the fact that the pulls are mounted from the front. The knife block is a Wusthof 14-slot knife organizer. DH brought it home from work (restaurant supply co), but the Wusthof is sold many places, including Amazon. Hope I answered everyone's questions! Oh, I looked and looked and looked and sat and sat and sat ... eventually ended up with these from Ballard Designs: Context: wanted some warmth (the rush seats) to bring in some of the pine we have in the room (breakfast table, and a couple of armoires and a hutch), the gold in the marble, and the brass hardware. Also, the spindles on the legs added a bit of curve to a room with lots of straight lines. I have another French country-ish armchair, with rush seat and spindle legs, elsewhere in the room. The black finish echoes the soapstone counters. The stools have been great. Kids are older, so the rush hasn't gotten dirty. It does leave marks on the back of your legs when you wear shorts, so I bought some cheap cushions at World Market for summer use. The black finish is starting to get a little worn, where we put our feet, but I figure black is easy enough to paint over.

Bump for breezy! I love this tile, oldbat! The raw sugar looks lavender on my monitor also, but if it looks in real life like the name sounds, it would be gorgeous in breezy's kitchen. I also really like the java.

I love pussy willows! You have lots of talent and experience with making wreaths, floral arrangements, etc. How wonderful you can do it now purely for pleasure... I haven't thought about my garden yet. It's still freezing here! :) I'm thankful your sis and her daughter are going to work together and be with your dear parents while you go away to help your daughter. You must be so excited. Did you ever dream that your retirement would turn out to be such a blessing!!! :) He guides our steps as we put our faith in Him... Nora, I always enjoy hearing from you and reading your posts.
