Nanny to a three year old who is sick

Hi. I am not new to this website or to Crohn's Disease. But I am a nanny to a child with Crohn's Disease. She is only 3 years old, and somehow she is supposed to have her first colonoscopy on Monday. I'm really worried about how I am going to get her to drink the prep. The child's mother isn't really all that involved with her (if you know what I mean.) The father seems to always be at work when I am around and the child is awake. How do I get her to drink the phosphosoda? I have gone to several other websites, and the only one where people could offer real advice was at www.colonoscopyforum.com. It's a really cool site for anyone that has experienced a colonoscopy. The people there recommended making phosphosoda and gatoraid popsicles, using an ice tray. Others said the only way is to hold the child down and pour it down their throat. I couldn't do that to her! I wouldn't want it done to me!!!! But it just sounds awful. I am really hoping you can help.

A resident whom I saw the last time I went to my PC said there is now a pill that can be taken & that nasty stuff doesn't have to be gagged down. I wonder if it's just for adults? Surely! they have something similiar for the little guys & gals. I sure hope so.
