anyone know about novik polymer siding?

I am looking for a siding product that is maintenance free and still resemble wood as much as possible. Fibre cement is not in the budget. I saw novik double 6 cedar plank and perfect shake which I thought looked good. I was wondering if anyone might have any knowledge of this product and if it is in a comperable price range to vinyl?

DH and I struggled with our siding choice as well. We are in our 60s, and like you wanted a completely maintenance free exterior. However, I was dead set against any vinyl. Our builder guided us away from fiber cement as he's had quite a few homeowners with problems, and he was getting little help through the warranty. He recommended Smart Siding, but I just didn't like it at all. Really fake looking, I thought. After checking out many, many other options, we finally decided on Certainteed Impressions. Yes, it is vinyl, which I said I would NEVER have, but we thought it looked really good. It was extremely sturdy, and there were many color choices. Time will tell if we made the right choice.

Does anyone have any experience with NOVIK cedar plank siding? I'm interested in it because they offer the wider boards that resemble more the fiber cement or real wood siding instead of looking like cheap vinyl that you see on every tract home. But the price is still great. I can get it for $3.10 / sqft delivered. The wider boards from Certainteed (6 or 7 inch foam backed) will cost me $5-$5.50 here.

Would these boards warp since they don't have a foam backing like the Certainteed cedarboards?

Hi,

I put Novik Cedar Shakes RS8 on the front of my house 6 years ago. We did the rest of the house in Home Depot cheap siding. Novik is a very nice, durable thick siding with a great snap together process. It hasn't faded warped or anything in the 6 years.

I had about half a box left that I just (today!) put on my pool shed. Just did the front in Novik and the side again in Home Depot special whatever was in stock to match the house.

The Novik looks great.

I also bought the Novik from a closeout at a local siding/window place so it was as cheap as the Home Depot 4" double panel siding. If the dealer had more, I would have bought to do the whole house in it - its much thicker and much nicer than standard big box stuff.

I wouldn't place any trust in this company. When looking for a place to order my siding - I chose Novik based upon their product delivery timing. It is now months past that promised delivery date(s) with more delays to follow. This company uses "bait and switch' tactics - stating their product delivery much quicker than their competitors and simply fail to deliver, with lame excuses. Good luck getting any honesty form this company.
