I was in the same boat. I would walk into any store...didn't matter if it was flooring, plumbing, whatever, and immediately gravitate to the most expensive product!

Yeah, Annie, tell me about it! Last night I was looking at cabinet hardware online. I saw a pull I liked, and I had some trouble finding it. Finally I clicked "highest price to lowest price" --yep, there's my pull. Literally the highest price. $37 per pull. Uh, no thank you.

I might pay that price if it were my forever home's kitchen . . . but right now I'm renovating a bathroom in anticipation of selling my current house. I'm surely not going to recoup $37 per pull, even if the future buyers share my taste.

That never happens to me. I was looking for a lavatory faucet, and found THE ONE. Oh... $1700, you say? For a FAUCET?! Back to the big box store.
