I don't care much for the kitchen layout. I would open it up. Also look at changing the entrance with the angled walls. Those cabinets are expensive and offer little storage. The bar height counter seems a little dated and does not keep the open feeling you are going for. Overall the plan looks good, but the flow could be a little better between all of the rooms.

If it was me, I would remove those cabinets and open it up to the family room. It looks like you have plenty cabinets and pantry storage without them. Also, for the study (bdr 5), I would move the entry to the foyer and put double French doors. Then you could remove the bump-outs for the two doors in the mud room area and have a more open space in that area, too. With a straight wall on that side of the mud room, you could also use pocket doors for both entries to the bathroom. With that said, only you know what works best for your family. I am sure it will be beautiful.
