Will 12" sidelights work with 42" door??

Happy Saturday everyone! We are having a custom walnut door made for our new build. Originally, we had planned a 42" door with 14" sidelights. We have to decrease the overall width slightly. Does anyone have a 42" door with 12" sidelights? Please post pictures!!!

Wondering if these will look too small with the door. The door will be 7ft high with an arched transom of 12-14" above.

My opinion they will be too narrow, for a 3'-6" x 7'-0" door with a transom should be a minimum of 1'-6" or 18" to avoid appearing to ne to narrow.

Our custom made walnut French doors and French screened doors are 48" wide, 7' tall. Our sidelights are 12", which works because each door is narrow. The transom glass over the doors is taller and wider to fit the space.

A wider 42" single door would seem to need wider sidelights and transom to carry the visual weight of the door IMO.
