 o
Nichiha installer in northeast Florida?

I'm looking for someone to install the Nichiha shakes on the house we're building. We've talked to a couple of people around here who don't want any part of it. Apparently it's not easy to put up- at least not the pre-finished kind we're using. And we want to use someone really good to make sure it gets done right. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

our GCs installers had never seen or heard of it before we used it. when i went out to check on them the guys were smiling and telling me how much they loved it. they said it was much easier to work with and faster to put up than the hardi because it didn't bend and break. funny, our GC gave us a hard time about it, telling us how it was "garbage" and not as "good" as hardiboard. after seeing it up he told me how glad he was that we finally listened to him and used the nichiha (huh?)!
i'm sorry you're having trouble but i'm not in your area. keep looking. old dogs don't like new tricks ...good luck and please let us know when you find someone.

they said it was much easier to work with and faster to put up than the hardi because it didn't bend and break.

We used NichiPanel and NichiTrim. Our installers said that it ate saw blades compared to Hardie, but did not break. The owner of the siding company said he always had some breakage with HardiePanel, but did not lose a single sheet of Nichi.

He also said he was going to include a blade surcharge on all future Nichi jobs he bids. He was kidding.....I think.
