Hello, this isn't an entirely new house, but we are having a new second story addition put on our 50s-era rambler. (Can't afford same size house that the addition will create, by a longshot, in our location.) The architect/builder just sent us his first draft of plans and we are due to give him feedback soon. He has all the elements that we want, but we want to move space from the master suite to the kids' and laundry rooms. We had asked for these approx. proportions:
Master bedroom 225 � 23%
Master bedroom closet 95 � 10%
Master bath 125 � 13%
Laundry 95 � 9%
Kid room #1 190 � 19%
Kid room #2 190 � 19%
Kid bathroom 80 � 8%
The stairs can't move and we are limited by our original footprint (permit) and cost. I was trying to move things around, but run into problems with the rooms on front and windows. (See my clumsy drawing alongside the architect's floor plan.)
