Wow! You must be building a really fancy really big home?
Aside from that, is this just for footings and what size slab? Or is this also 10 ft poured concrete basement walls? While I am only planninhlg 20K for footings/slab/9 ft basement ceilings, you may be planning on a much larger footprint in much different soil.in the amazon where they import cement from 3 countries away! I also will be building within 3 miles of a huge cement plant, so we really need more information to determine if that is high.while I don't need 30K in steel, your home may?

It would help to know more about your build. As a comparison, my footings worked out to about 15 yards. In SC, the footings aren't very deep, though.

My house is ICF, both basement and main floor. I used about 2 tons of steel, placing it on 16" centers, both horizontal and vertical. The material was about $1200, IIRC. The amount for the footings was tiny. They dug my footings, placed the steel, and formed it all up in less than a day.

Between the basement slabs, two stories of ICF, a large porch, and the basement slab I still didn't use 130 yards. My house is small, though, with a footprint of about 1400 square feet, or 2800 square feet including the basement.

Concrete here in SC runs less than $90/yard. If they have to hire a pumper, the cost does go up. I'm curious as to why the concrete for the footings is so much higher than it is for the flatwork?
