$5 led bulds Walmart Samsclub maby Coctco

I got LED bulbs from Sams Club and maby at Costco that were about $5 each. You get about 40-60 watts of light for 1.5 watts, and they stay cool. Newer larger Walmarts have a better selection but run a little more. The bright is real white but I like it. It reminds me of sun light. The warm light gives out more of a yellow light, probably closer to what you are used to. Lights of America is the brand name and they last 30,000 hours and are not for use with dimmer.I hate can lights but i like them with a smaller bulb,They have spotlights for cans, Candelabra bulbs for chandelear and round bulbs. I'm Putting them everywere we can. Good luck. Don

A couple of cautionary notes regarding Lights Of America (LOA). The company makes amazing efficiency claims for some of their lighting products, especially the flourex bulb, which they are the sole source for, as far as I can tell. I came across this product in one of the box stores, and it seemed too good to be true in that it produced much more light for a given power rating than any other flourescent.

I Googled around a bit and found that they seem to be using "perceived lumens" instead of actual lumens to rate the product, according to one web poster, who said that he found the disclaimer on the bottom of the box, where a consumer would be unlikely to look.

According the company web site, "Lights of America pioneered the magnetic, solid state circuit, and electronic circuit ballasts." The web site also says that LOA was founded in 1978. Since magnetic ballasts have been around since the 1930s, their claim to have pioneered magnetic ballasts is dubious at best.

All of which makes me wonder about the accuracy of those claims for their LED bulbs.

Then there are the reviews on Amazon..........

I've never bought any kind of lamp/bulb from any large or discount store that lasted more than a month and the track lights I bought at Home Depot turned brown and failed in less than a year. Eventually you learn to buy all your lamps and fixtures from an electrical supply or lighting store. Get a discount from an electrician, builder or architect is you can but even at full markup you will save money.

You just have to shop carefully and research the manufacturer, if you are not familiar with their products. If you are in a hurry and unfamilier with the products, the supply house is your best bet.

We buy T12 flourescents by the box from Home Depot with no longevity issues. Home Depot sells Lithonia lighting products, for example, with the exact same part number as carried in the supply houses. The local supply house is slightly cheaper for the Lithonia brand if you are a builder, but not if you are a retail customer. They do have a much wider selection, of course.
